Our clinic is committed to providing the highest standard of care, and we must adhere to medical regulations and ethical standards. When you initially received the test kit, it required a doctor's requisition, which is standard practice for all medical tests. This test was requisitioned for you specifically after your appointment. However, when the test kit was completed and returned to us, it was done using your son’s information instead of yours, which goes against medical regulations. Since your son is not a patient of our clinic, it is not possible for us to review the results for him without a requisition from one of our doctors, as this is a requirement for us to comply with standards of care and the law.
In an effort to resolve the situation, we recommended booking an initial consultation for your son, so that we could review the results with him properly. We also provided an alternative option for a full refund for the test kit, which you graciously accepted.
I want to emphasize that this policy is not a “money grab” - this policy is a regulatory requirement to ensure that tests are requisitioned and interpreted only by a licensed practitioner who has an established doctor-patient relationship with the individual being tested. These regulations are in place to safeguard patients' health and ensure that results are reviewed accurately and responsibly.

Since you were accompanied by your mother and primarily communicated through her, our phlebotomist may not have been fully aware of the anxiety you were experiencing. We strive to ensure all our patients feel comfortable during procedures, and our phlebotomists are trained to provide compassionate care.

Expérience négative: I always held Nutri-Chem and their staff in high regard, until this week when the Pharmacy Staff showed a definite lack of creativity and flexibility in filling my order for a compounded item. I placed an order for 3 months supply, on May 25th. paid a hefty sum of money up front, and was told it would take 2-3 business days. I got a call late, Wed. that the supplement was ready. On Thurs. I drove all the way from Ottawa South, to the store only to be told that the prescription was not ready. The reason given was that once prepared the pills had to "sit" One of the Pharmacy staff apologized that I came to the store for nothing, and that therefore, they would deliver my prescription, to my home on Fri. May 31. It is now, Fri., I stayed home all day, expecting the delivery to arrive. Finally, I called Pharmacy staff person but since Pharmacy only accepts voice-mail messages and only replies in 24 hours, I asked one of the regular staff to intervene for me. I was put on hold and when the regular staff person returned she relayed Pharmacy's litany of excuses, and that the prescription would not be ready until Monday, June 3rd. and even then, only "maybe." The excuses given were that they had problems getting the ingredients, and that it takes a long time to make them by hand, and the other excuse that once prepared they had to "sit. That is all well and good, it is a large order to fill by hand, BUT, Pharmacy could have been flexible. They could have prepared a partial order, like 15 pills instead of all 90. But, having my money I guess the feeling was that they didn't have to sweat it, and didn't have to be accommodating or try to find solutions - like preparing a partial order, or even telling me the truth and giving me my money back - until such time as the product was ready. This has been a very unsettling and disappointing experience. It has shaken my loyalty to Nutri-Chem which dates back to 1980s when this company compounded a product that saved my daughter's eyesight. It is with reluctance that I am posting this review.

Their storefront is accessible, the products available are very high quality, and the store is always clean. Products are shown on promotional shelves when on sale, the staff are very helpful when trying to find certain products. The Nutrichem brand MegaMag is the best magnesium glycinate I've ever tried. Expérience positive: Be careful when trying bioidentical progesterone hormone treatment. it was done improperly with my wife and a definite lack of monitoring. . . took two years to get back close to normal . . . After putting on 30 lb and lots of side effects then. . . Dropped by the doctor? . . . (See below) Now they write an answer to my review which implies that I did not express my opinion at the time. My wife was very clear with her dissatisfaction around the treatment and the lack of oversight. she was seeking further answers and then she was promptly told to not come back . . . and dropped as a client by the doctor?

Expérience fantastique: "Literally LIFE CHANGING" —The Naturopaths here gave me a new lease on life after helping me understand the connection between inflammation, pain and our nervous system. MY EXPERIENCE: I went from an 11/10 on the pain scale with osteoarthritis to 2/10 after adopting their suggestions for diet and supplements within 2 weeks of my first call (back in 2019). Since then I have experimented with other brands/supplements but haven't found anything as high quality/effect (or who's practitioners who are as attentive) as with Nutrichem. BEST QUALITIES: Their pharmacists, naturopaths and doctors are specialists that give you the time and energy to really figure things out. They assess *everything* which was a game changer for me, because I'd never had a doctor ask or consider the scope of variables they did (from stress, to habits and environmental factors). Their front store staff and email patient support is TOP NOTCH. They respond quickly and professionally, making you feel cared for and considered. They offer free delivery on orders over a certain amount within Ottawa too, making it easy to keep up with re-orders of certain vitamins/supplements. IS IT "WORTH" IT? Nutrichem might feel 'expensive' to some, but for those who aren't getting answers/results from the public health care system, having *the option* to invest in your own health (and being able to directly access the diagnosis tools, specialists and supplements) can literally change the quality of your life, like it did for me. SUMMARY: If you want more options with your own healthcare, energy or pain management, book a call with a practitioner and feel into whether supplements are a good fit for you. A couple hundred dollars unlocked *years* of high quality living for me while I waited on a surgery. Truly life changing. Thanks Nutrichem!

Expérience négative: Terrible business. The DR in question refused to keep me as a patient after they failed to book me in for bloodwork. They assumed that I didn't want to pay for their overpriced services and said that it was my fault that they didn't do their job. How am I supposed to have bloodwork done without a Family Physician or requisition form?! They have a Nurse Practitioner but apparently she can't do her own job either... what a joke. I truly hope people wake up and start listening when people talk. And don't reply to tell me to take off my negative review. Blaming me for saying I didn't go see the walk-in clinic when I did and didn't get help is not what I call good customer service. You made assumptions and told me that I didn't do what my treatment plan was for the past 4 months. I was apparently supposed to keep taking products that made me vomit instantly the minute I ingested it? Good job blaming patients, that's not what the Hippocratic Oath is all about.

Show up next Thursday and they tell us we need to pay before they even start making it. Not sure why they didn't ask us to pay when we showed up initially, gave us a timeline of "it'll be ready when it's ready". So now we can't get our required medication and our pain has been extended thanks to these guys. Go anywhere else.

Expérience négative: Worst customer service. When I had a problem with a prescription they called me but did not leave a message on my answering service. When I went to the pharmacy to resolve the issue….it really was not resolved and the pharmacist was quite rude about the whole ordeal.
Expérience négative: BEWARE OF THE EXPIRY DATE OF NUTRI-CHEM BRANDS PRODUCTS! I just received a Riza-Max Protein Powder from Nutri-them and the Expiry Date is September 2023. It is not even a year away!! I order a lot of other products from other companies and the Expiry Date is rarely less than 2 years from the time I receive the product. Of course Nutri-them does NOT acknowledge this is a problem, not one bit. All I have to do is to return the powder within 14 days (product was shipped to me) AT MY OWN EXPENSE of course! Customer service has gone down considerably since the purchase of the new building. Nutri-them has embraced a culture where any wrongdoing on their part is simply unthinkable! This is naivete at its peak! And a lot of pride too! So next time you purchase (or order online) a Nutri-Chem Brand Product, remember to check the expiry date or you might find yourself at a loss.
Expérience négative: I have been ordering Vitamins Compounded into 2 pills as I can't take 5-6 pills daily. I asked to renew my formula, and they sent me the vitamins compounded into 3 pills. The reason I get my vitamins compounded is cut down on the number of pills I need to take along with my medication. When I questioned Michelle and Lois on why I was not advised in advance that my previous perscriptions was changed to 3 pills with out notification, they refused to answer me. On the previous order before this one the mixed up the dosages and I had to throw out the vitamins and wait for a new batch to be sent.Only after sending several email and phone calls, Lois got back to me and said they can no longer send me perscriptions. The lab is unprofessional and inconsistent.

Expérience négative: I had very negative experience at this pharmacy. First of all, the supplements are extremely expensive compared to similar products in the market. Second, the customer service is okay when you purchase their products but very bad when you try to return the products. I was told that probiotics cannot be returned within 14 days of purchase when I tried to return an unopened probiotics, obviously I never looked at the fine prints on the receipt. However, what the cashier said was contradicting, on one hand she said the probiotics doesn't have to be kept in fridge if I need to travel, on the other hand she said she cannot accept the product return because the probiotics need to be kept in the fridge. I will NOT return to this pharmacy as a customer.

Our sincerest apologies that your shopping experience did not live up to expectations and that there was some confusion we hope we can clarify. We carry high quality, professional and Canadian supplements brands that do third party testing and in some occasions clinical studies on their supplements compared to supplements you may find for example in a grocery store. We also have two signs on our probiotic fridge to indicate that all products that require refrigeration are final sale as well as on the bottom of our receipts. We do let customers know that if they do leave their product out of the fridge in a room temperature setting for short travel periods that we have confirmed with the supplements companies that that would be okay and not affect their potency. However we do not take back products that require refrigeration as we cannot guarantee that they have been kept in circumstances that would be acceptable for re-sale and we would not want to sell our customers a product that we could not 100% guarantee this. We do take each scenario of a return inquiry into consideration and we would be happy to look into it further if you would like to contact our store manager or email [email protected].

My old pharmacy is no longer a compounding pharmacy so they referred me to Nutrichem. However, I will be trying someplace else when it is time to refill as the cost at Nutrichem is prohibitive.

We apologize if you are frustrated with our compound pricing. This is a sterile compound that requires advanced compounding procedures and sterile cleanrooms to meet given newly-enforced NAPRA pharmacy regulations in Ontario. These are the regulations that likely led to your previous pharmacy stopping compounding, as well as many other pharmacies that have not obeyed the laws when it comes to compounding prescriptions. It is easy to charge dangerously low prices when you can cut corners and ignore regulations, but we refuse to do so because it would put you at risk. Sterile compounds like this are expensive to make safely, and in order to make them properly, our costs have increased considerably due to these new compounding regulations. Expérience fantastique: I have been a customer of this pharmacy for over 15 years. Any time I need any type of alternative supplements - vitamins, homeopathic remedies, herbs, etc. - they have it! The selection is amazing and if they don't have it they will order it for you. The new location on Carling is clean and spacious and the floor staff are very knowledgeable. Many of them are graduates of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (csnn.ca) so they are very good at helping you choose the right remedy.

Expérience négative: i have been with nutrichem for just 2 and a half months and have been shorted by 10% on every single vial of medicine I've purchased at 162% of my old pharacy's cost. They comped extra to make up for it the first time but it's continued to happen. Every single time they've given me 2ml vials instead of the 4ml vial i asked for and was prescribed and every time i can only get 1.8ml out of it. Even had a nurse do it just to make sure it's not user error. Tired of getting screwed, I need my prescribed dosage not 90% of it! Attached a picture of the .8 I managed to get out this week after 1ml last week.

We actually have been adding overfill to all of these injections as this does unfortunately happen occasionally in the compounding of these injections. I'm sorry that our resolution of apologizing for this and refunding you for this prescription was not satisfactory. Expérience négative: My husband purchased a probiotic for me last October, CYTO-MATRIX, Multi-Strain 50. The cost for 60 capsules was $59.99 - one dollar per capsule. I started taking them immediately and have been since. Today I checked the expiry date thinking they would last the 3 months I will be away, as of tomorrow until the end of Mar. I was horrified to see the EXPIRY DATE of 09/25/17 - AFTER my husband purchased them! This is unconscionable as well as highly unprofessional - and it probably contravenes - or should - proper business practices, especially from a pharmacy that we thought we could trust. OBVIOUSLY NOT..
Hello Jo - We just noticed this review and apologies on not responding sooner. There seems to be some confusion in that you have mistaken our price sticker of when we received the product into our store (09/25/17) as the expiration date of the product. The actually expiry date of that product and all products in store are printed on label by the company that makes each individual product.
The expiry that we have currently and most likely from the batch you purchased is 06/2019 and is NOT expired. We do not sell products here that have expired and actually keep a very detailed log of all products coming up to expiry to make sure we never even by mistake sell an expired product. Please know that a phone call or an email to us about your concerns about potentially being sold an expired product would have cleared this up immediately as we pride ourselves on our high level of service and professionalism. I also left you a message last week to discuss further to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase.

Expérience négative: I was using them to provide a cancer treatment drug for my dog. I live more than an hour away, and don't have credit cards. I would call in the repeat, and pick it up when they called me. Suddenly, they changed their policy requiring prepayment. Since money was tight, I could not drive there to pay and go back to pick it up. My dog died from the cancer 6 months later because the cancer took off and killed him. I would NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN.
Expérience positive: Pros: Unique products; honest, friendly staff Cons: Communication, judgement Clearly they are experiencing some growing pains with the addition of the new store on St. Laurent. They promised to send my order there for pickup by a certain time. When I arrived as agreed I was told that "the driver only works certain days and comes and goes as he pleases", so the store isn't supposed to promise delivery times. I left empty handed with an apology and a promise that they'd call when the product I'd ordered was actually there.

I am very sorry to hear that you did not have the greatest experience with delivery to our St. Laurent location. We did experience some growing pains when we were opening our new store. Delivers to St Laurent are sent once a day and customers are notified as soon as it arrives in store. Our mail order department is also responsible for all delivers to St. Laurent and they can be reached directly at 613-820-9065.

Expérience positive: My daughter requires a compound version of her daily medication. I was disappointed with my experience with Nutrichem from start to finish. First it took a couple days to even find out if what I wanted done was even possible. I suppose I wouldn't have complained about that if the rest of the experience was better. I don't live in Ottawa, but I work there, so I skipped my lunch break to go down and fill my prescription. When I got there they didn't tell me that I had to pay in advance, I didn't have the full amount of the quote. My doctor had switched the prescription level so itwould have cost less and they were at the cash register for about 20 minutes trying to figure it out and made me late for an important meeting at work. I still didn't have a quote so they called and said ok here is the price, so I had to go back and pay as I don't like to use my credit card, so then I was late to get my daughter at the sitters and she carged me extra fees. When I went to pay I said I want it delivered, this seemed to be a foreign question and they told me they would put a note in with my daughters compound to send to my insuance company. They finally got the details right. Now we come to the delivery, I work in a secure building but I provided my phone # and the driver would merely pick up the phone provided outside the door and dial my number. I couldnt leave my desk through lunch because they didn't give me a time frame for when hewas coming, when I did get notice he was there it came through one of the vice presidents managers. Somehow the delivery guy thought the phone was broken (it wasn't i checked after he left) and he called the wrong number. When I got to the door he told me it wasn't funny and I wasted 20 minutes of his time. He had also offended the vice presidents manager so she was not exactly in a good mood with me. When I opened the medication the letter promised was not included. I called Nutrichem to ask and complain about the delivery guy. It was clear they did not care what I was saying and they don't want real customers. Then I asked for the lettter and was assured they were emailing it right away. I called about 4 hours later because I never got the letter. They assured me they sent it twice. I called the next day to give them another email as it seemed they were unable to email. They took that and said they had sent it twice again but I got nothing. THEN I called another compounding pharmacy and asked if I could transfer my daughters prescription because of the poor service. He informed me there was a possibility that the compounding could render my daughters medication to be less effective for the time frame and I would have to watch it. Now this was not told to me by Nutrichem at all and my blood stopped pumping as my daughter has a tendency to get angry and sometimes hurt other children and I had trusted Nutrichem to make the compound and sent her to school that day and was terrified her medication might suddenly wear off and cause problems, including me losing anotherday at work for her medical issues which would not be a good thing for my families financial security. I called the pharmacy and they said they checked with their overriding body but if I was concerned see how she was when she got home at the end of the day. I was mortified and spent the whole rest of the day calling different pharmacies and terrified my daughter would hurt someone or herself. I guess Nutrichem must have been somewhat concerned as well because about a minute after I called about that I got an email with my insurance letter. Anyways I have moved to another company that offers great service from start to finish and is closer to my home. I will review them shortly too.
