Expérience négative: They’ll even ask you to email them to find out what happened and then just like the clinic itself ignore your email response. Don’t bother sending an email to them after they say they are sorry to hear “please email us at..”. Want to email the doctor $50 Want the doc to fill a form you need for a prescription $45 It operates like a private healthcare clinic. Every situation feels brand new to them and they can’t help you. I have 2 emails waiting for responses and I don’t think they’ll be coming

Expérience fantastique: I was referred to Dr. Jenny Gu for hormonal testing and thyroid management. I've only seen her once so far (in March), but I wanted to leave a review here because of the significant quantity of negative reviews for this clinic. My experience was excellent. Plenty of parking in the lot, easy access to the clinic, lots of chairs in the waiting room, self check-in at the entrance... If my memory is correct I interacted with Tammy (receptionist) and Anne-Marie (nurse or doctor's assistant) and both were very pleasant to deal with. They listened to me, answered my questions nicely and we also joked around a little bit because it was early in the morning and we were clearly needing more caffeine. There was some miscommunication about the reason for my appointment/referral, but Anne-Marie spoke to Dr. Gu and it was sorted out. Dr. Gu accepted to see me and take me on as a patient. She was excellent: knowledgeable, patient when I was talking, respectful, took her time to explain things, and she also submitted a prescription to my pharmacy right away. Last thing: The clinic uses an email address as the main method of contact for questions or appointments. I can't contain my happiness that I don't have to make any phone calls to deal with simple or even more complex things. No more being put on hold, leaving messages, or waiting for business hours. I have great nonsensical phone anxiety and avoid it 100% of the time, so thank you LMC Ottawa/Barrhaven for this very practical service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Expérience positive: Doctors and ancillary staff are professionals and generally helpful. I disagree with clinic fee charges for Rx refills at all private clinics. They do offer services I have not used such as eyecare and pharmacy reviews that I would use if it wasn’t for my relationship with my current providers.

Expérience négative: I was originally referred to this clinic in Dec of 2024. Even though I finally had an appointment booked (after much runaround) for May 6th it was coldly without warning rescheduled to late July at a time I was otherwise committed. When I tried to discuss with them I had no luck communicating with the CSR on the call. Someone identifying themselves as the clinic manager claimed I was given incorrect information and an appointment couldn’t be booked until late September of 2025, a full 9 months after first contact, and not with the doctor I was referred to. In all that time trying to advocated for myself I was treated like a piece of furniture to be slotted in wherever convenient for them - not as a person with a distressing medical condition worsening by the minute. My advice, find somewhere else to get help if you need medical care. Unless you don’t mind being treated like a worn out carpet.

Expérience négative: There has been very few moments in my life where I have been left speechless at the lack of respect and medical care I've received. Upon arriving to the clinic 20 minutes earlier than my appointment, I greeted the receptionist desk asking to be signed in. I was very rudely informed that my health card had expired (which I take full accountability of not realizing) and was encouraged to pay or give up my appointment and wait several additional months, for a rescheduled appointment. If you've had an endocrinologist appointment, you would know that it is such a long wait to see them. Feeling defeated, I called my incredible partner who realized we can quickly renew the health card online. I return to them, letting them know that this was a solution and "never heard of it before" and continued being incredibly disrespectful. Come to find out, one was even the management of the clinic. She said: "not my fault, not my problem". It was a stressful 20 minutes to say the least and I was lucky to have been informed by my partner of the solution. What I encourage everyone if they're made to go here is keep interactions short and limited with reception and/or refer yourself elsewhere. I was told that there are many endocrinologist in the city and I'm looking forward to a space that holds core values in care, respect, and dignity for everyone. I was lucky to get through the waiting room period by the soft reassure and kindness of strangers telling me I did a good job and how terrible the treatment was. Don't walk, run away from this location - you don't need the headache.

Expérience fantastique: Simply an amazing place to get professional care--emphasis on care. I'm quite impressed with the level of service I've received from everyone I've come in contact with--from the front desk to the screening nurse, everyone is always personable and efficient. I rarely have any wait times--although I do always prefer a very early appointment, so I imagine there's not much time for them to get backed up. Either way--I couldn't ask for better service.

Expérience négative: I called LMC Healthcare Ottawa as a favour to someone who can't make an appointment today because they are sick. First I tried around noon and voice mail said they weren't taking calls until 1 PM. Fair enough. I called again at 1 and got voice mail again advising to email them. The tone of the outgoing messages is pretty cold as well. What exactly is the point of telling people to call back if you're not going to pick up anyway? It's hardly convenient and who uses email much now? What was that email address again? I wish I hadn't offered to help out today. It's an hour later and this hasn't been resolved. And now I have to watch for a reply? You guys need make it convenient for your clients, not the other way around. Figure it out. Pffft...

Expérience négative: Note: Dr Malakieh and the back office staff are very polite and helpful and I have only had great treatment by them. This review is directed towards the front office staff. I had to reschedule my appointment in April because of an unrelated surgery. They told me to call back at a later time to reschedule the appointment but when I finally called in I was told I needed a new referral from my GP because they had not seen me 'in office' in two years. I had spoken with the Dr. virtually AND had my regular annual ultrasounds and blood work were done within the past two years but they insisted on a lengthy new referral. I arrived 7 minutes late for what I thought was a 9:15 appointment but it turned out the appointment was at 9:00. I was rudely informed that I should have been there at 8:45 so I was '37 min late' and they would not see me that day. I made an honest mistake about the appointment time however the Dr was running behind anyways so she would not have even seen me even if I had been there any earlier. They didn't notify me that they did not receive my ultrasound results and never notified me prior to my appointment.

Expérience négative: I waited a week for a call for an urgent referral, heard nothing, contacted them, only to find out they don't do urgent referrals and they were sending my referral back to my doctor, fine if you don't do urgent referrals but don't wait over a week for me to find out you don't do them and just to deny it??? It's urgent for a reason and waiting an extra week to have it denied anyways is just cruel!

The most recent being I was only 6 minutes late due to weather and traffic and they have such a strict late policy that I’m unable to be seen and threatened with a late fee despite me being here. My appointment usually takes 10 minutes to be seen so I really don’t understand why they’re being this difficult.

Expérience positive: This is definitely a 4 star review SOLELY because appointments are very hard to book and it’s usually a 3-4 month wait. Which given the lack of family doctors in Ottawa means I will often need my endocrinologist to review my labs before my next appointment. Besides that, lovely clinic. Clean building. Reception is always pleasant and rather affable. Dr. O’Leary is the best endocrinologist I’ve had since I was a teenager and still at Trillium Hospital’s paediatric diabetes clinic with Dr. Simone. If I bring up an inquiry about a medication or lab work result he doesn’t dismiss me, he’ll actually discuss it and provide sources like NIH & Cleveland clinic for further. I’m so happy I found this clinic, because it’s just lovely. Top-tier endocrinologist! —— Definitely recommended to anyone who needs a diabetic clinic/endocrinologist after aging out of CHEO.

Expérience négative: THE WORST customer service from the reception. It is impossible to get someone to answer the phone or reach someone. They hang up in the middle of the sentence. They don't want to work and treat the patients horribly. LMC needs new leadership and management.

They did it without my consent and now my regular pharmacist can’t review my meds. My family dr is upset as well. I’ve been told this phone-call med review (where they only verify my med list) is illegal and I am reporting the pharmacist and pharmacy to their Ontario college of pharmacy. This is why our healthcare is in trouble- nonsense illegal waste of our taxes. Shame on you LmC. I am sure you are doing it to many other people as well.

Expérience négative: I’ve had to reschedule an appointment which for some reason means they have to push your appointment six months each time. I have two jobs and one of them is really unpredictable which means I can’t guarantee that I will even be in the country six months from now. Today the receptionist called me to remind me of an appointment and I asked if it was possible to do the appointment online, and that I felt really badly about having to reschedule/said sorry etc. She got angry at me and told me if I wanted to reschedule I could figure it out myself online and then hung up on me. She was so angry with me even though I was apologetic and just made me feel awful. This is the second interaction I’ve had here that’s made me cry. I am a receptionist myself and if I spoke that way to someone I would definitely be fired! I understand if she was having a bad day but It just sucks. Please be nicer because now my day is bad too!

Expérience fantastique: I am beyond impressed with the care and knowledge displayed by Dr Malakieh. Of all the Endocrinologists I’ve had over the years, she is by far the most up to date on the technology available to treat my diabetes, usually knowing about developments before I do. She is the first Endocrinologist I’ve had where I feel she gives me the time to express my thoughts, ask questions and provide meaningful answers, and actually listens to what I am trying to say rather than just going through the motions of looking like she’s listening. My only complaint is with LMC as a business; when trying to initiate contact with them, it is very difficult to speak with a real live human. All calls and emails seem to go to a central location and get directed from there. They DO respond and answer my needs/questions every time, you just need wait patiently for it to happen. This problem is not unique to LMC these days though, but rather indicative of the state of healthcare in Ontario in general.
Expérience positive: While I share some lack of access frustrations others reported most of that fault is misplaced. LMC is attempting to deal with a tsunami of patients in a health care system that is starved of resources. That is simply Government negligence both federal and provincial over many years around lack of Doctors, Nurses etc. in Ottawa and really Ontario. That is not getting fixed. Dr. Peticca was through and made changes in my care that made it possible for me to live/cope with my situation. That was something my previous doctor could not do. Seeing some of the articles in the news recently about stomach paralysis drug side effects, I'm very glad I changed doctors when I did.

Expérience positive: I’ve been a patient of Dr. Peticca for several years and I have nothing but the highest regards for her. She’s a wonderful person, I’ve never had a problem getting in touch with her. Today I tried to get in touch as I’ve been having high blood sugars lately. I called her number and I pressed what I was supposed to 3 times. Three times I got my number 1 and got a busy signal no person . So today I’ve been sorely disappointed.

Expérience négative: I find it ridiculous that you have to email to change or cancel an appointment. I received an email yesterday that I had an appointment booked for today which was surprising since I have another booked for a week from now. I tried calling to cancel the appointment but was told I have to email them - so I did and haven’t heard back (the appointment has now come and gone with no word). I checked Medeo and neither of these appointments are listed on there nor can you actually book an appointment through there. Their administrative services really need to get their s*** together!

Expérience négative: My wife had been booked to be seen by Dr. Peticca for a year and when the appointment was 1 week away we are informed by the front desk clerk over the phone that the doctor has dropped my wife as a patient and that her family doctor will have to send in a new referral and when that was done we were informed that Dr. Timothy O'Leary would be taking the case and then literally 2 weeks from my wife's new appointment date we have been informed again that she needs to be rescheduled for 6 weeks away because the doctor is going on vacation like where the hell is the professionalism with LMC like if the doctor wanted to go on vacation then why can't he schedule for a time and date when he doesn't have patients like every other professional doctor who literally has the front desk book off the number of days that the doctor will be gone for and have them book around those dates like every good doctor. I am so disappointed in how LMC has been doing business that I actually want to find out how to make a serious complaint and get a reprimand given to the doctors that aren't doing there jobs properly.

Expérience négative: I had an appointment with Dr. Tailor, I asked if she could take my BP again using a stethoscope because I believe that the machine used to take your BP can be inaccurate. She immediately accused me of being confrontational. She then said SHE was in a hurry. I expressed my surprise at her accusation and that she had upset me. She then told me to calm down. I WAS calm until she accused me of being confrontational because I made a very simple request. The worst thing to say to someone who is upset is to tell them to calm down. As a Paramedic with 34 years experience and something called Street Smarts telling someone to calm down has the complete opposite effect. Dr. Tailor's deportment is inappropriate, unwelcome and unprofessional.I had to leave the appointment because I heard enough of Dr. Tailor's bad attitude. Telling a patient that THEY are in a hurry proves this Dr. is clearly not interested in you as a patient they are more interested in your OHIP Card.
Expérience négative: I’ve been a patient with Dr. Peticca for 6 years, even came from her last clinic. 2 times this year alone, I’ve had phone appointments and she’s has never called, I had to call the clinic and received a call from her no warning a couple of days later. I had taken the day off work when the original appointment was booked. When I do have appointments with her even if I book the first appointment of the day, she is still over an hour late. She makes dramatic changes to my pump settings which sends my results in the opposite direction and spends 5-10 of a 15 minute appointment with me. I don’t know what to do anymore, it’s hard to care when your doctor doesn’t. My diabetes isn’t going away but I might be looking into another clinic.

Expérience fantastique: So I have been a patient here for over 5 years now. I have had the only the most positive things to say about the staff and Dr. Nadia Malakieh. 5 years ago during one of our routine appointments she listed to my concerns examine me (45 minutes) and referred me to a vascular surgeon for a placement of a stent. Always have found the staff to be professional. Would suggest that they have one person answer the phone instead of email or Leaving a message. Can be hard to get through.

We finally saw the diabetes doctor, and she was very friendly and helpful and accommodating. I think they are doing their best during some difficult times.

Expérience négative: Horrible customer service. You cannot call and speak to someone without waiting a minimum of 20 minutes, and when you finally get through you have the pleasure of speaking with someone who treats you as though you are inconveniencing them by calling. Due to construction and heavy traffic on Stranheard we arrived 1 minute late for the appointment and were refused service and told that if we were going to be late we should have called, which is nonsense since you cannot call in without being on an extended hold. In order to notify them that we would be late, we would have to be psychic as the drive is shorter than the time we spent on hold. SHAMEFUL UPDATE They booked an appointment on the Monday of the long weekend. The appointment did not show up in the booking app until late Friday. Sine they do not pick up, there was no way to confirm, which left is waiting for a virtual call that never occured. Mistakes happen, however to date there has been no follow up and the appointment has not been rescheduled. It is really unfortunate that the admin staff is so rude and the booking system so glitchy as the doctor is wonderful. As Ontarians, I guess this is the price we payfor free healthcare.

Expérience fantastique: I have only ever had an amazing experience with LMC. Right from my first call with them, follow-up calls, receptionists, doctors, you name it. The have always been professional, polite and willing to help in any way possible.

They cancel your appointments which you've waited 3+ months without your consent and then book appointments for random days without consulting you. They are not apologetic or emphatic when they make a mistake and you have to suffer for their incompetency. Trying to contact them is almost impossible with their no reply emails and 30+ phone wait times. Overall don't go here unless you want poor quality care, long wait times and inconsiderate staff!

I never received a phone call. I phoned back today and they said the new appointment wasn't even in the system.. I now have to wait over a month for an appointment that was time sensitive and had to be dealt with this week! I am furious. If you can decide where your referral is DO NOT PICK THIS PLACE. The staff is incompetent and cannot do their jobs.

Expérience négative: Unpleasant customer service. Given proper referral from my Diabetes Doctor and customer service was not willing to hear me out. My Diabetes Doctor had provided all proper documentation. Was supposed to be see for more then Diabetes Type 1. Was also given the run around in rescheduling multiple times my appointment to see the specialist. Customer Service failed to recognized the entire referral and not the short form summary.

Ended up leaving the facility as I have other appointment to attend to. Not wanting to go back again. Wasted my time waiting going there today.
Expérience négative: Very disappointed with this company. I was referred to LMC Ottawa for HRT treatment, and every visit has presented problems. For the first visit, I was left to wait around 3.5 hours before being seen for a CONSULTATION. I wasn’t given any medication or treatment, I waited 3.5 hours for a 5 minute visit. I had to reschedule my second appointment due to urgent conflicts, and was left on hold for 30 minutes before I was hung up on. As such, I rescheduled online, and thought everything was fine. Despite this, I received a letter in the mail informing me that I missed my appointment, and that they were *generously* waiving the $50 no-show fee even though I cancelled the appointment. The third time I was there, I couldn’t get in touch with them to let them know there had been a misunderstanding with the pharmacy, and I wouldn’t have my shot ready in time for the appointment. I called and left a message so they could call back, but they never did. Last week, I called to ask if I needed to bring in a blocker shot or if I would move on to testosterone immediately. They said they would call me back within two days. It has been just shy of a week since then, and nothing from their end. If you value communication, do NOT go here. There is zero communication, and though the reception staff is very nice and understanding, they are unable to compensate for this.

Another fun fact is, I called around 4:30pm, this time the greeting tone is finally changed " our office is closed, please call another time". The web site says, the clinic closes at 5pm. What a bummer! Time to move out of this clinic.
