Expérience négative: I'm disappointed to have to leave this review as I've been coming here for some time, and went to their therapists before they worked at this location, and have otherwise had good experiences. I had an appointment booked for today that I unfortunately had to cancel. I felt sick last night, and tried to cancel online, but was welcomed by a message that said I needed to contact to cancel. The shop was closed, so I called them this morning to let them know I have the flu. I was informed that I'd be charged a cancellation fee. I run an appointment based business myself, so I understand the reason cancellation policies exist. If I had cancelled for other reasons, I'd understand and pay the fee. However, I always make an exception for people being unexpectedly sick, particularly when the option to cancel earlier is cut off. The alternative today was that I show up, possibly get the therapist sick, and very likely have diarrhea on her table. It is to nobody's benefit that I keep the appointment. This is an unfortunate way to treat customers, and I won't be back. It's also worth noting that the last time I went was the first time I had used this particular therapist, and two days after the appointment I came down with severe pain in one of the areas she had worked on. I had to have an emergency physiotherapy appointment shortly after as I could barely move, have had several since (5 appointments, $300) and have had to miss work and withdraw from two sporting events. Since I understand it may have been a coincidence and that she may have been able to take a different approach knowing this information, I was prepared to give it another chance and was planning to discuss it today.

Expérience fantastique: Went for my first massage appointment with Sharleen today the magic of her elbows and hands definitely worked out some knots i have had in my back for years Sharleen asked a few questions before the massage started so we could determine how hard she had to apply pressure and I feel like a million dollars after she was done I along with my girlfriend Stacey will definitely be back again

Expérience fantastique: Sharleen is an exceptional and superb therapist! She's intuitive, kind, thoughtful, and so balanced that just being around her is uplifting. The combination of techniques and strategies she utilizes is very comprehensive and thorough and I feel like I'm playing an active role in this healing process rather than just receiving a session. I've had nothing short of wonderful experiences working with her! Furthermore, their entire atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing.

Expérience positive: It's hard to give a review of the actual massage experience because I didn't get one, couldn't actually even get in the door with an appointment. But I thought I might share what did happen to me because it was very strange. I moved to a new area of town so I googled a massage place that was nearby and found Alleviate. Good reviews and it even had the "Ad" tag next to the listing so I figured it would be a good bet. I tried using the online form but nearest appointment was Aug 2 but said "contact to book". I phoned and spoke to reception. Said I was interested in booking a massage. She asked which therapist I was interested in. I said it didn't matter, whichever was soonest. She then said they had no availability. I was somewhat stunned because this is like a pizza place asking what kind of pizza you want before letting you know they don't have any pizza at all. I just said, ok, I guess I'll just try another place then. She happily wished me a good day. I made it a middle of the road 3 star review because I don't want to tank anyones rating and I haven't actually had a massage from them. Maybe they give amazing ones but I couldn't tell you. The owners should probably either stop paying for google ads (if they have enough clients) or have a conversation with their receptionist about what to do with potential new clients when they phone because I found another place to go.

Expérience fantastique: Sonya's knowledge of the muscle and skeletal system is unequaled in massage therapy. She knows exactly how to tackle pain, restriction and discomfort and always gets a good result. With her help I'm a lot more active and fit then I'd be without her.

Expérience fantastique: Sonya is amazing! She is so friendly and knowledgeable and she is always pursuing extra education to improve her practice. I will never go to another massage therapist - it would be impossible! When you go to Sonya you can tell she is tailoring her treatment to exactly what you say you're experiencing as well as what she "finds" with her hands when she works on you. It's incredible. There is absolutely nothing generic or cookie-cutter about it, as her technique even differs every single time I go because every time I go my symptoms and my body are a little bit different. I can't say enough good things about her. If you can get a massage with her, do it! You won't regret it!

Expérience fantastique: I've been seeing Sonya for massage therapy for about 5 years now and I can say with confidence that she is an absolutely wonderful and caring RMT. I have experienced many other RMTs and none compare to the service that Sonya provides. Here are some qualities that I think sets her apart from most RMTs: * She carefully listens to what ailments you are experiencing at the time and tailors her treatment accordingly. * She explains and demonstrates what is causing the pain in your body. Most often than not what you think is the main issue is actually being caused by some other contributing factor(s) in your body/muscles. * She checks in with you every now and then to see if the pressure she is applying works with you or not. * The massage setting (music, dim lighting, etc.) is very relaxing. * She uses a warming pad to warm up your muscles, I thought this was a nice touch. * She gives you at advice on exercises, stretches, posture, etc. that you can do at home or introduce into your daily life so the ailment doesn't become a recurring event. This seems so basic, but no one has ever offered this to me in the past. Sonya is an amazing person and I wish nothing but the best for her and her growing business.

Expérience fantastique: Sonya is the best RMT in the city. I needed regular massages after getting hit by a car while riding my bike over 3 years ago. Sonya genuinely wants you to get better. She goes above and beyond the level of care I would expect from a RMT. Sonya gives me exercises to do with a foam roller at home or with free weights at the gym. Even though I'm all healed up from the car accident, I still book monthly "maintenance" appointments with her as I have an office job which contributes to neck and back pain. The word is out about Sonya, which means you will have to book your appointments far in advance to get the coveted lunchtime or after work time slots.

Whether I am dealing with a complex issue with my hips or an abundance of fascia, I always leave my session feeling significantly better (after a day or two!). Her technique in traditional Thai massage is second to none and she also incorporates implements such as cupping and Graston when necessary. Sonya carries a breadth of knowledge as it relates to physiology and has offered some great self-care tips for in between sessions. It quickly becomes evident that Sonya truly cares about the well being of her clients. Simply put, Alleviate is a great choice and highly recommended!
