Negative experience: Dr. Hayden Marshall of Animal Hospital Of Cambridge on Hespeler Road, has provided our family with an unsatisfactory experience, my spouse took our dog in for a check-up and was informed that she has cancer throughout her body. Unfortunately, we were not presented with any treatment options, instead, Dr. Hayden Marshall allegedly threatened my spouse when she was emotionally distressed, stating that we had 48 hours to say our goodbyes and were required to return to the veterinary clinic for euthanasia. If we failed to comply, Dr. Marshall purportedly threatened to contact the Humane Society, resulting in our dog being taken away from our residence, and potentially facing fines and jail time if convicted. I am disappointed to say that Dr. Marshall's demeanor was unprofessional and insensitive, leading me to advise others against seeking her services or visiting the Animal Hospital Of Cambridge, as our experience was extremely disappointing. Fortunately, we sought a second opinion from another veterinarian on Cedar Street three days later, who demonstrated empathy and professionalism. This veterinarian provided us with additional treatment options, which would have extended our dog's life by three weeks, after which euthanasia would be necessary, an outcome with which my family was in agreement. Ultimately, our dog passed away peacefully at home on the scheduled follow-up date, a comforting conclusion to a difficult situation, and she will be deeply missed, RIP Teddy.

Negative experience: Again another disappointing experience with this terrible hospital. I took my very sick dog to this hospital because it was open Sunday, she was in excruciating, abdominal pain and had to see Vet before it got any worse. I was so stressed out and worried for my sweet dog only to be turned away by this terrible hospital and told to go somewhere else, they would not take her. Yet., There was not one single person in the waiting room. I was the only one in this hospital that day, and I was told it was too busy for any vets to see my dog. And I was told to go somewhere else. Disgusting place. They couldn’t care less about your animal. All they care about is the money.

Negative experience: I will forever be grateful for the amazing doctors and techs at this clinic. However, I won't be returning because of the reception. I'm unsure who provides the operating procedures for these staff to operate, but it needs to be reviewed. I tried to book my dog in who was not in an emergency situation. The reception continued to provide their opinion about what I should do, what they believed my dog was suffering from, rather than just book the appointment. This happened twice. It was insulting as a highly and present pet owner to be continuously told by a receptionist what they felt my best course of action was as if I was not smart enough or attentive enough to know what's best for my pet. The only people that should be doing that are the doctors. Unfortunately over stepping and over sensitive front staff can deter lifetime clients so I would suggest that someone review the processes.

Negative experience: I asked for an appointment for nutrition advice a month ago, they didn't answer, didn't help with anything! I followed up what's going on, and now they say, that it's closed and despite I asked a MONTH AGO I'm out of luck! They ignored the request, never checked in and after my question, that's it! Horrible service!

Fantastic experience: Another vet clinic looked after my bunny while he was alive because he needed an exotic vet, but I’d like to share how impressed I am with the team at Animal Hospital of Cambridge. We took our deceased bunny in for them to send to the animal cemetery, and they were very understanding and accommodating. They sent us a sympathy card even though Tony was not a “patient” of theirs. If this is any indication of the love and care they put into their work, I will recommend them to anyone needing a vet in Cambridge!

Negative experience: I’ve dealt with the Animal Hospital of Cambridge for a number of years with my two dogs. I was disappointed with their service for quite some time. I wish I had made the decision to go elsewhere. My two dogs have now died. The Animal Hospital of Cambridge is a “business”, nothing more. They regularly suggested multiple tests on my dogs, that many upset customers may just say yes to. I questioned things. What if try the one test first and then take it step by step from there - they agreed after some reasonable questioning. Virtually every time, that’s all my pet needed. The other tests they suggested were just additional costs to me and not required. They will always try to upsell you on things. Your pet is a dollar sign to them. They often do not respond to calls and emails. I will never take another pet of mine to this “business”. There are a lot of options in Cambridge. Before dealing with this business, my previous dog, who lived to be 14 years old, was taken care of by another vet (since retired). I never experienced any concern with my previous vet - his concern was my dog, not upselling. Highly recommend you avoid taking your pet to the AHOC, a business. Barry K.

Fantastic experience: I have owned animals my whole life and dealt with many different vets and staff. I have never in my life dealt with a group of loving professionals like those at Animal Hospital of Cambridge. Not only did they let us take Rayne in right away, they diagnosed her quickly and did her emergency surgery within a few hours. The staff is so understanding of how important our fur babies are and it shows with their level of compassion in dealing with us overprotective pet parents. All meds sent home had clear instructions and they also called the very next morning to see how our pups night was. I am going to recommend to everyone I know with furbabies. My kitty will be a new patient as well. So grateful for all you did saving our girl. Monica

Negative experience: I should have trusted the negative reviews. Brought my cat here for a checkup on August 20th because she had a corneal scar when she was adopted and it had been getting slightly larger. During the appointment the vet tested her eye for an ulcer and it came back positive. The vet mentioned there was possibly an ulcer under her scar, but she wasn’t 100% sure and wanted to check with other vets because my cats eye has a deformation. Almost $300 later we aren’t given any medication or treatment plan and are told we will hear from the vet with more info. Four days later we wake up and my cats eye has suddenly swollen up and it’s purple and puss filled. Called them and they said it’s an emergency and we have to see someone asap but they are full and can’t see us?? We went to the emergency vet and they said it would be a 7 hour wait. Needless to say we went somewhere else and had her treated. We found another local vet and when we explained what happened they got us on for an appointment in less than 15 minutes. Turns out she has an infected melting ulcer in her cornea and she might need surgery. to avoid losing her eye She is now getting very aggressive treatment. Including 6 different medications and eye drops. She will most likely lose most of the vision in her eye, if she doesn’t end up losing the whole eye. If there was a suspected ulcer then we should have been given antibiotics when we had the tests done. Here we are two weeks later and I still haven’t heard back from your office about what the vet thought was going on with her eye. I am disgusted and so angry with the negligence of the vets at this office. All of this could have been avoided if your vet just did their job when we saw them the first time. Edit: I get that appointments fill up fast, but why wasn’t she given treatment when we came into your office? This didn’t need to be an emergency? She tested positive for an ulcer on Tuesday and She was sent home to get worse and we still haven’t heard from anyone at your office. Don’t say you’re accepting new patients when you don’t have enough vets to take care of the ones you have

Positive experience: I called here 2x yesterday for an appointment for my cat Zorro. I tried to book for Friday and you refused. He was breathing more than normal, and your suggestion was to call the emergency vet. When I called them and explained my concerns they advised to call Zorros normal vet, as they didn't feel it was critical to bring him in because he was eating and drinking normal. Why don't you care about Zorro? He's an innocent kitty. I guess if I went to emergency vet anyway you'd be guaranteed $ because of a follow up. So glad I found a vet that agrees with my concerns regarding Zorro and has squeezed him in Friday. Don't call yourself an animal hospital if you simply refuse to see not just my cat but any animal!

Negative experience: Do NOT go to the Cambridge Animal Hospital. You will NOT walk out with any bill under $1,000. You will NOT have a proper diagnosis for your sick dog. You will NOT have your dog start feeling better after the medication they wrongfully prescribe. If you don't care for your loved animals and you feel like visiting a veterinarian that knows less about their health than you do, while paying them more than any other vet in town, then this is the place for you.

Fantastic experience: We brought our dogs in today for the first time after being referred by a friend. My husband and I were so incredibly happy by the high quality of care. Dr. Marshall blew us away with how she interacted with our dogs, explained everything in great detail to us, gave us multiple options of routes of care, just everything about it made us leave feeling very happy. So grateful to have found a new vet that we can trust with the care of our dogs. Also the front desk staff were friendly and the woman I dealt with on the phone leading up to our appointment was super great to deal with!

Negative experience: My dog was experiencing an emergency, and the lady over the phone was cold and unhelpful in a time when my dog needed them the most. I had to wait 5 hours to see the vet, and my dog had passed at home by then. The sign at the front that says emergency is a lie.

Negative experience: Went to buy a case of cat food, which we have many times before and was denied because the lady at the desk said the cat food was prescription. Who knew...this is the food he eats so don't say it's for the pets sake because now I have to change his food until I can buy from my vet, not the best for him.

Negative experience: So today I was sitting in my car in the parking lot. And a lady came out with a dog to let go pee or poo well 2 maybe 3 seconds she was right back inside. Dam come on lady let the dog go to the washroom poor dog. I then called them to complain about it . And the lady on the phone said sorry we will bring the dog back out. lies i waited there no dog came out. So why would I trust to bring my animals to a place where u wont even let a dog go pee or poop. Now let me hear some more excuses n lies when you respond or reply to this review. Negative experience: We have been clients here since they were across the street in the old building. Back then the care was great. Now it seems like there are long waits every time we come in. I've been here 3 times in 3 months and have waited over an hour each time for the vets. At this time we were give meds for our cat but only 1/2 the amount needed to complete the course of treatment. When I called about it I was charged for a second round of meds. Also they used to do nail trims for 12-$16. It is now over $40. This is outrageous! Sad to say but we will be looking for a new team. Also there is a big sign on Hespler side of the building saying "emergency". When our cat collapsed a few mo the ago and we called we were told it's a busy day and go to Maple Grove. I overheard a phone conversation today where the reception was also saying the same thing to a client. Don't advertise something that your not

Negative experience: We are transferring our dog to a different vet. We gave them all the information to transfer the files over the phone. They have called multiple times since then asking for the same information over and over again. When we were displeased with the inability for this process to go through the women on the phone was rude and hung up. I don’t recommend taking your animal here if you want an easy experience.

Fantastic experience: Their care is stellar. Sometimes, there are frustrations or high costs for that care, but there is not 1 second where it feels like your Pet's health is not the #1 priority, and that's what matters most. Fantastic experience: My cat got an upper respiratory earlier this week and I couldn't get him in to see a vet. So I was referred to bring him here to Cambridge. 40 min drive but well worth it. Staff were amazing super friendly. Clean. Took every step that they can to prevent other pets getting any sort of upper respiratory. Answered all my questions and took the time to let me know everything single thing that was wrong. Never pushed anything on to me about certain needles or anything. They told me what options they had to treat my boy and let me make the choice on what I would like to do. They also gave my boy something as well for a car ride home as hes not the best being outside of the house or cat carriers. Overall I recommend them. Will be returning to them in the near future

Fantastic experience: They love animals but also understand that some animals are anxious about going to the vet. They put a scent on the blanket that my cat was being examined on, and it immediately soothed her . Excellent prices and don't do anything unnecessarily. If I still lived in the city my animals would still be seen there.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Fiona is absolutely AMAZING - please do all you can to keep such a gem in this clinic! She truly cares about the health and well-being of our fur baby. She has gone above and beyond as well as went as far as checking in with a care email weeks later to see how he was doing with the recommendations we discussed at our last visit. We have been coming here for 3 years and recently were considering switching vet's because of a not ideal experience that we felt was a bit unnecessary when it comes to customer service, but Dr. Fiona changed our mind completely and has taught us so much during our last visit, especially being first-time pet owners. No one had educated us in the way that she did, and with the empathy she gave so freely. Dr. Fiona, thank you for being so kind, so patient and above everything, allowing us to ask all of our questions and helping us to feel empowered being the best dog mom/dad to our baby Mylo. We truly appreciated your time and expertise. Please don't ever leave!!!

Fantastic experience: We came here without an appointment because my cat was suddenly ill and my regular vet was closed. Even though we arrived in a frazzle without calling ahead, they were so nice to me and my partner. They kindly explained that they were not an emergency clinic and we would have to wait until later in the day to be seen. They took my information and my cat's symptoms. After passing the info to the vet, they deemed the situation urgent and directed me to the EVC. I was only at this location for a total of 5 minutes . But, wow! They are so kind and it looks like a really nice facility. If they see this review: we went to the EVC and my cat is doing much better now. Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: I’m so grateful for this hospital and their amazing staff! They saved my dog’s life! Dr. Quinn Marshall is so empathic and incredible at what she does. She’s our superhero and lifesaver. Dr. Lindsey is an excellent vet, I’m thankful she diagnosed the problem accurately in our first meeting. She’s absolutely amazing and went the extra length to help us with our insurance. The vet tech Christa and the admin staff Tracey went over and above as well to help save Abe’s life! We will forever be indebted to all the amazing staff that helped us during a very stressful time. They are the best and I highly recommend their services. It’s worth the drive from Brantford for us!

Negative experience: Horrible service from this vet they do not communicate and only care about the money. Take your pet elsewhere. Would give a zero if I could. We have found our new vet the Fisher mills animal hospital. Bring your pet here for a full piece of mind to not say all there services are half the price. I don’t think our pets care about those fancy chandeliers you got hanging in your building.

Fantastic experience: We are so greatful for the amazing care we receive for our dog, Keenan. He loves everyone at the clinic, so much so, I can't even say the word "vet". He gets so excited whenever we pull into the parking lot, and he can't wait to get inside and say hello to everyone. Keenan is treated like a celebrity when he is there. We are all treated so well during all our visits. From weigh ins, to prevention medication pickup, and most of all during amputation surgery, he is treated with so much love. Fantastic experience: We’ve been clients for a few years now. Unfortunately, we’ve had to euthanize two of our pets during our time as clients here. The first was our family cat, the second our family dog. As devastating as these heartbreaking times were for our family, the hospital was amazing to us. Couldn’t have asked for a better service. The vets and their assistants were all so supportive and patient and kind. Even as we left the room, someone (I can’t remember who) walked up to me, noticing I was pretty distraught, and asked if I needed anything. Offered me a hug and that’s exactly what I needed in that moment to help me muster up the strength to go home without our dog. We used to be seen at a small town vet who was also amazing, and had better prices, but once we moved to the city it wasn’t worth the drive to go out to our old vet. Besides the difference in price which is to be expected, they’ve always offered amazing services and have always been very accommodating to our financial constraints as well.

Fantastic experience: The care and compassion we received when having to unexpectedly put our senior dog down over the weekend was exceptional. We are so appreciative to the staff for ensuring our questions were answered and giving us the space to say goodbye. The cost was very fair and we were provided with a quote up front. Negative experience: It’s Taking me a long time to post a review. My husband and I bought our nine month old kitten to get neutered back in march 2023. We brought him in the Saturday for his shots before the surgery. I got the paperwork for the cost of everything and noticed that the tax was $91 3 days later we bring our kitten in to have his surgery done, got The same paperwork that we did on Saturday. But I noticed that the tax went up to $101. When I asked the lady in the room, why did the tax go up $10 from Saturday to Tuesday she could not give me a definitive answer so we went to go and pay for the surgery and I had asked the front reception. Why did the tax go up $10. They proceeded to tell me that because of the US dollar Fluctuating that’s why. Last time I checked, we do not live in the US this is Canada. I felt very betrayed and lied to. I will not bring any of my animals back to this place, as I feel like they just wanna syphon money out of you.

Fantastic experience: Visited AHC two weeks ago with my dog who was attacked by another dog. Staff and doctors were friendly, calm and helpful. They addressed my dog’s injuries and we were on our way in an hour. They also sent a report to my regular vet which I found very helpful. Would recommend AHC.

Negative experience: One of the worst vets in the area. They overcharge for everything they have. The food has gone up in price every few months that we have been there, and they pushed us to buy the most expensive food. Not only that, but they overcharge for check ups and any tests that are needed. I will never step food in this place and will go to other trusted vets in the area.

Negative experience: I called this vet as my vet was closed for the long weekend and we just realized we were out of dog food. I asked if they sold a specific dietary food that my dog requires as he has pancreatitis. The woman on the phone indicated that they had it in stock and then asked if I was a client. When I said no she told me she would not sell me the dog food as it was a prescription dog food (which it's not and is sold on Amazon). When I asked her what she suggested I do, she recommended that I just sit down and call every vet in the region that was open on a long weekend (which is basically none) until I can find someone to sell it to me. This is not a great business strategy and I will never take my pet here if this is how they treat people and animals.

Fantastic experience: We could not be any more thankful to the Animal Hospital of Cambridge for helping us during a pretty rough time earlier this year. Our 1 1/2 year old cat got pretty sick and they made us feel as good as we could despite the circumstances. They were amazing at explaining what was going on to the best of their knowledge. The staff really took their time answering our questions and alleviating most of our fears. The vet techs and doctors at AHOC are extremely warm, friendly, understanding and helpful. Fantastic experience: We took our senior Shih Tzu, Yellow, here after developing an eye injury (our reg vet could not see us). It turned out to be an ulcer, developing into a melting ulcer. The staff were so kind, so helpful, so smart, and felt just like family. We all tried our best to save Yellows last remaining eye, even taking a referral to a specialist in Toronto. Despite our best efforts, the many vet visits, so many medications, Yellow eventually passed away. We have been dog owners for 20+ years, always had same vet, but Cambridge Animal Hospital provided such great care - we will never use another vet. Dr. Melissa, thank you for trying your best with Yellow and giving us a sense of hope, thanks for taking my extra calls & emails and taking your time with our son. Jessica, thanks for always letting me cry and vent to you, it meant a lot to me (and Yellow). I wish I could thank everyone there individually, but please know you are all incredible. We now have a new family member, a Shih Tzu named Kevin and hes incredibly happy with his new fam at the Animal Hospital of Cambridge <3

Negative experience: Unhelpful staff and comically-expensive (from past experience). I just called to get my senior dog in for some pills (and it's also flea/tick/heartworm season). The lady on the phone literally told me they weren't interested in helping my dog because we don't already have a relationship. Confusing... Does that mean AHC will only treat dogs that were born there? How do you ever get new patients, if you can't become one, because you aren't already one? Patients aren't allowed to return after coming back to the area? Nice business model!

Fantastic experience: I will never switch vets. The entire staff, including vets, vet techs, front desk, everyone are all very professional and so kind. We lost our Old Man suddenly last week and are heavily grieving. After a traumatic experience due to EVC on Maple Grove, AHOC swooped in as soon as they opened and went above and beyond to take care of us as best they could. After losing my best friend, his little brother was having a hard time, largely due to my own anxiety and distress, and they were very empathetic and understanding of our financial strain. They never pressure you to do extra tests or visits. They called after a few days to check in on my grieving boy as well. They're amazing. I'm so thankful they were there to help us through the hardest time of our lives.

Negative experience: I'm feeling incredibly disappointed in the lack of consistent information from this hospital. I called to find out if I could get an appointment for my senior dog. I went through all symptoms with the person on the phone and was told I could not pre-schedule and had to call back as their emergency appointments were all booked up. I was told it was best to call first thing in the morning. The next time I called, I was told something completely different. Apparently, my dog did not qualify for an emergency appointment and now I had to book ahead instead. Had I been told this the first time, I would have done so. Instead, I lost days. And on top of this, there seemed to be no empathy. Nor did Janine, who was speaking to me, seem to want to get to the root of the issue to resolve this and ensure this did not happen to anyone else. When you have a senior pet that is not feeling well, this is the last thing you want. If the basic procedures seem to be unclear to the staff working there, I can't even imagine how they handle their more complex, internal charts. Definitely not something that inspires confidence in a clinic. I promptly took my pet somewhere else. I guess this clinic has enough patients......

Sorry if there was a miscommunication. We have general appointment times that we do pre-book and reserve emergency appointment spots that are booked "on the day of" if the issue is an emergency / patient is unstable. The reason we don't pre-book those spots is because if we did we may fill up, and not be able to help a pet in crisis. We accommodate as many patients in the day as our scheduler allows, unfortunately that means we may have to provide you an open spot within the next day or two. Since we can never predict the number of calls we will receive in a day, occasionally all of our spots may be taken by the time someone calls later in the day. Hope your senior pet is feeling better and you were able to receive care.

Fantastic experience: Both Sharon and I had two visits last Sunday and Monday. Unfortunately on Monday our golden retriever Connor was determined to be too sick to continue. We made the hard decision to say goodbye. A huge shoutout to the staff for making it a lot more bearable. I need to really give a big hug out to Dr Amy. She was thoughtful, kind, patient, perfect in the way she handled us and our dilemma. Fantastic experience: I'm so glad I chose this vet for my puppy. She's had several appointments since we brought her home. They have many vets, many RVTs, and CSRs. The hours are so flexible. Cost for animal care isn't an issue for me here. The staff are so lovely and they are so patient with my puppy that has separation anxiety. The communication I get from this animal hospital is second to none. The customer service is top notch.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here has been amazing to our cat and dog. They were there for our puppies first check up, for our cats passing and everything in between. Always been compassionate and caring with us. We used them in their old location and will continue to use them going forward.

Positive experience: I’ve took my bella for checkup. It was clean and great. Vet’s are experienced and they know what they are doing. Just one thing about it is it’s expensive. Even just for normal checkup for kitten will cost you around 150$.

Fantastic experience: I had heard good things about this vet clinic and was happy to see what I had heard was accurate. It was clean and large and well staffed. The vet tech was great and so was the vet. My dog was happy. The pricing was good and the opinions on what he needed were great. I've had vets tell me in the past that certain things were required where here they told me what they recommended and didn't pressure me to pay for things or imply they were required. This is the new home for our dog and I would recommend it to friends as well.

Negative experience: One of our two cats has been seeing one of the veterinarians on a regular basis for ongoing health problems. Communication is a challenge amongst client services staff, RVTs and doctors. The client services staff often seem unknowledgeable and staff appear to be too busy to manage client requests. We often find that we are calling the clinic to follow up about booking rechecks, getting blood work results, medication etc. It has occurred on more than one occasion that medication was said to have been ordered and we paid for it and waited to get a go ahead to pick up, o lay to find it hadn’t been ordered yet at all. Most recently, we ordered a prescription refill for a medication our cat takes every other day. Her dose is half a tablet of a very small, very commonly used medication for cats. We asked specifically to have the medication split for us. We were told in the message about picking it up that we should purchase a pill splitter. When picking up the medication, my husband asked again if the medication could be split before we took it home. We were told this was not possible because it was a compounded medication (it isn’t, in my experience as an RVT) and they worried it would affect the quality of the medication. This is unlikely to be true given that the medication was available to be picked up less than an hour after requesting a refill. It seems that it is often my husband or I putting in time and effort to receive a pretty basic standard of customer service. This clinic should be very concerned with how that might be perceived and how that affects a client’s perception of patient care by extension.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good things to say about the Animal Hospital of Cambridge. Although we are a regular grooming client of Pam’s, we do have a different vet that we normally go to. Our dog, Harry, got sick on a Friday night and unfortunately, my wife and I both had to fly out of town on Sunday for five days. Since our vet was closed, in a panic I called to see if we could get a last-minute appointment on Saturday morning. Right from the start everyone was friendly and helpful. They squeezed us in for an appointment asap. Due to suspected Kennel Cough both the Vet and the Tech met us at the car for his exam. I thought this was ideal because it is very contagious and we certainly would not want any other dogs to catch it. I felt the exam was pretty thorough. They listened to his heart and lungs, took his temperature, and checked his eyes, nose, mouth, etc. They assessed his symptoms, prescribed antibiotics, and we declined the optional cough syrup. For a total of $263.00 for a last-minute emergency appointment, I felt it was very reasonable. But, it didn't end there. Since we could no longer board Harry, our son’s girlfriend stayed with him for the week. She received a follow-up phone call from the Vet on Thursday. Since Harry wasn’t really improving, she sent a video of him coughing by email. They then followed up with me (by e-mail in Texas) and it was decided to switch his antibiotics to a different type for this nasty resistant cough. My son’s girlfriend drove over and picked up the new prescription ($50.00) with no extra charges. These pills started working after about 5 days of the 7-day prescription. Harry was 90% better when they ran out, but the symptoms began to come back. So, I replied to the e-mail (they asked us to keep them updated) and to my surprise I got another phone call from the Vet (we are now over two weeks into treatment with numerous e-mails and two different prescriptions). She said she had read my e-mail and thought it might be reasonable, under the circumstances, (Harry’s cough coming back) to start him on a second week course to make sure it clears up. I agreed and went right over. Again, I was only charged $50.00 for the medicine. I have to say we are extremely impressed. I feel like they truly care about Harry’s health. Fantastic follow up, and I did not feel like I was being overcharged at all. Beside the medicine I paid once for the initial exam. I would recommend AHOC to anyone and am seriously considering changing vets even though I really don’t have any complaints with my existing one. (Other than poor office hours)

Negative experience: This is a recounting of my only visit, please enjoy. The female vet I saw did not provide any consultation to me just agreed with what I thought it was and gave me a 298$ bill. 117$ as an examination fee for a standard appointment.....that is outrageous for them to check his breathing and stick a thermometer up his bum; which the vet tech did have of the job....their clinic is not 117$/exam nice looking, which i did not even get to experience because my dog had kennel cough so i was examined outside, nor was that vet's "expertise" worth 117$/exam. They gave me 60 ml cough syrup dosage (36$) and upon asking for a refill 5 days later asked me to come back in for another examination (117$)! They also did not provide me with a full 60 ml as I ran out a day early. 60 ml / 8ml = 7.5 days. I even asked for a refill on the prescript and was told to just call when you run out. I called my vet later, as they were closed on the weekend, and she said she wouldn't have even prescribed the antibiotics as he is young and said i was over charged at 143$. They did not even provide me with a price breakdown at anytime I just paid and got the visa receipt. I had to call to ask once it seemed like I was being taken advantage of to inquire. Now if my dog needs a medication or a treatment, i would pay anything for it that is not the issue I have. Shame on you for prying on a worried dog parent for overcharging and over and under prescribing medicine all to save your margins, probably. So I shall never be returning to this ever so greedy establishment which clearly does not actually care about the clients they serve just the money they want to take from scared people. If in are need of an animal hospital drive to Guelph if it is within your ability to do so. I hope all the best to those that are in need of animal help. P.s. This is the only vet service and any service, i personally know, whose phone recording specifies specifically to not verbally abuse their staff, which you should not; I do agree with that. Do not abuse customer service worker. However, if you have to preface that on your initial recording, that is a reflection on your service boo boo and the anger is a reflection of that bad service.

Sorry that it seems communication should have been more clear to help you understand the reasons why treating a contagious kennel cough was done outside. This was to prevent other dogs in a closed space from potentially also catching it. We are available on weekends and provide extensive hours so care is available when others are not. Unfortunately that does mean some of our services cost a bit more. In regards to our voicemail asking for respectful treatment of our customer service providers - it is a reflection of the times. All vet clinics and people in other service industries also post signs of this nature. We just want people to know we support our staffs mental wellbeing. Sorry we were unable to meet or exceed your expectations, we hope your pet is doing better.

Positive experience: I had a cat named pita, Me and pita have been through a lot together. This event happened maybe two years ago during the start of Covid. My poor pita got sick, he had this problem before and this animal Hospital really helped me out the first time it happened. Wonderful staff,great people. Unfortunately the second time my pita got sick they really couldn’t help me with a payment plan, I understood because of Covid all businesses were affected, even I had lost my job during Covid and that’s why I couldn’t pay upfront for my poor kitty this time. This hospital had to keep pita this time to help him. Me and pita had about five minutes to say bye to each other. I’m glad they could still help him at that time and I believe he was put up for adoption. I really really hope the family or person who adopted pita truly understands what an amazing affectionate kitty He is. He helped me through such a dark time my life. I still think about this special kitty all the time! Ty for taking care of him.

Negative experience: The Cambridge Animal Hospital was great to us and our little boy Oreo. I want to say more positive about them but after they forwarded us to Gateway Pet Memorial I simply cannot say anything better. We have paid well over $2000 in the last 6 weeks to the Animal Hospital only to have to put our dog down and have him placed into Gateways profiting hands. Oreo was our dog but Oreo was more importantly our family. We are heart broken and our home feels like no longer a home without him here with us. We saw what Gateway had to offer as memorial "gifts" so we decided to go with Oreo's paw print on a stone idea. It costs $90 for this and we are more than happy to have this done as a memorial for our little boy. We also asked if we could have a simple paw print done on a piece of paper, nothing special just ink and paper as we would like to get a tattoo of Oreo done. We've been trying to do this with Oreo for the last few weeks but his cancer had been making that impossible as he could not stay still. So we asked for this along with the stone we were happily paying for, until they told us it would be $50.00 to dip Oreo's paw in ink and press it on a piece of paper. Nothing fancy, just his paw print on a $0.05 sheet of paper using $0.02 worth of ink. Our family is heart broken and these criminals want to charge SEVERAL HUNDRED times more than what this is worth to make our broken family happy? We are absolutely disgusted by Gateway Pet Memorial and these people not only don't care about the families dealing with grief of losing a member of their family but they don't care about the animals they are using to profit from. If you're dealing with an animal in your family like us that has a short amount of time left make sure you don't make the same mistakes as we did by dealing with these uncompassionate crooks that the Cambridge Animal Hospital left our Oreo with.

We can not speak to their service fee's for memorial items, perhaps that is a communication you want to have with them. Gateway does offer some unique items to help remember our pets by and unfortunately it does come with a cost. Negative experience: Very overpriced and the vets are not knowledgeable. The last vet I had was Julie, she prescribed my dog allergy medication. We went with the higher end as she recommended to avoid symptoms or a reaction. My dog has been very sick since we started giving him the meds. We stopped and called to explain how we will no longer be giving him what was prescribed and we would like to return the prescription. Especially since we only used 3 pills. The bet told us though getting this sick is rare, there is nothing that can be done. She then proceeded to prescribed another medication on the phone... All I can say is they completely rip you off. I spent $400 and she wouldn't help me afterwards. I looked at other vets rates to compare once I got the bill and man is there a difference. I really hope no one else has to go through this. Please find someone else for your furbaby, a place that actually cares and will do more research to find the actual issue with your pet. I am no longer a client due to the lack of education these vets have. This is not the first time I've realized this... which is my fault that I stayed so long.

Fantastic experience: I have my fur baby as patient at this vet and I have to say the people and services are very good. They always have time to answer my questions and always have the availability if I need to book any appointments for my dog as my work schedule at times can be long days so it very hard to be able to make appointments if I need too but animal hospital of Cambridge has always had time for my Shelby girl. Recently I had to take my fur baby in to get her fur checked out and they are very helpful and patient with my pup. Thank you for your continued service for my fur baby. Highly recommend this vet.

Fantastic experience: We have been so grateful for the compassion and kindness that we have received at Animal Hospital of Cambridge. After adopting an anxious rescue, the team was incredibly patient and ensured Daisy felt safe and comfortable at each visit, despite having to do curbside drop-offs for the first little bit. After adopting a kitten more recently, the caring nature simply moved along to her as well. Although we have moved away, we are thankful for all of the time, help and love that was given to our two girls!

Fantastic experience: I brought a friend with her dog for a concerning issue. The vet wasn’t as concerned and knew it was a simple issue requiring a change in food. The vet was mindful of the expense it would be for her to go through with an examination, when she knew it wasn’t necessary. Friends dog got what he needed for less than $50, was not charged anything for the appointment. Care was friendly and understanding. Definitely recommend and will bring my dog there if I ever have an emergency with her because I know my dog would be in good hands and that I won’t be gauged/taken advantage of in an emergency situation.

Negative experience: Totally shocked and disappointed with their service. Switching vets after three years of being extremely content with no complaints (we also got our pup her as well). I never thought I would be here leaving a bad review. Called yesterday to buy more food and to figure out why I have no been receiving notifications for my pets veterinary care any more. She told me my dog is behind on multiple things and needed a test. I got no apology or explanation and felt like they could not care less. For the amount I have paid over the years I expected better care then this. Happily making the switch to another vet, especially after I called to move my file over and they gave me a one word conversation. Care more about how you treat your paying customers.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible, called because I have a 3 week old puppy gagging. It’s Sunday morning and they have no “emergancy spots available” and refused to book a normal apt until next week. Absolutely disgusting behaviour of a vet that is supposed to take care of animals. I have 4 puppies that will need a perm I ant vet and let me tell you it will not be this place seeing my puppies EVER.

Fantastic experience: Brought our scared puppy here after she had a lot of blood in her stool. From the moment I called, the front desk worker was so kind and helpful. It was an easy and quick process getting in and we only waited under an half and a half. The vet was very informative and helpful, she even brought my pup a bowl of food to eat. When we left, the girls all treated my puppy like their own. So grateful to have a positive experience during a scary time, would definitely reccomend!

Negative experience: All they care about is making money to pay for their fancy facility. My wife and I took our cat there and for 200$, they checked her breathing and temperature. We described the problem to the vet and all she did was offer more services that cost more money. She didn’t even offer her recommendations and left the next steps in our hands. The vet was obviously too afraid to take responsibility for recommending anything. She’s supposed to be the expert, and she put the decision making into our hands. What a waste of time and money!!!

Positive experience: Veterinary service is excellent. Customer Service sucks The last time i went, The veterinary service was great. The doctor was letting me know of all the steps she was taking and explaining to me everything along the way. She also checked up on misty after we left and sent a couple of emails with notes. This time, i had taken an appointment on a Tuesday at 9 (bc they are always fully Booked on the weekends) and informed them i will be 15 mins late and ended up arriving at 9:30. At that point, i knew I was very late and that i have missed my appointment. I went in hoping that the lady at the reception can talk to the doctor and squeeze my cat somewhere today. She asked the doctor, but the doctor refused. The lady at the reception did not offer the best costumer service. Her tone was aggressive and she kept saying “hon” which i am very much not found of.

Negative experience: We are an elderly couple, and we now have spent over $800 on testing to try to get our dogs teeth fixed. They keep on charging us but they haven't touched his teeth. We are in our 70's and they kept us waiting for hours. Finally my husband got upset and yelled at the staff. All of sudden 15 min later he's all sudden ready to go. Staff looks too young to be in this field. Very unorganized, staff is not pleasant at all. Please go somewhere else!

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Animal Hospital of Cambridge enough !!! They constantly come through for my fur baby Molson. He’s had many different health issues and they always manage to find time for him to be seen . Unfortunately Molson didn’t start coming to this place when he was a puppy. We moved him to this clinic after moving to this side of town so he viewed it as a place of negative experience because he is always sick when he goes . Over a week ago he had a pedicure there and one of the girls made sure to make it a great experience for him and gave him a treat when he was done . She even managed to give him his hypoallergenic treat and took the time to check his file to make sure it was his kind . I have been in the clinic again a few days ago and the same girl , which sadly I don’t know her name , came up to Molson and remembered him and gave him some cuddles . Makes you feel valued when they build a connection with our fur baby. Kellie Ann helped me this week as Molson was having breathing issues . She made sure to make me feel that Molson was a priority and helped me get an appointment so quickly . She was Very knowledgeable and has excellent phone mannerism . She gave me different options in case our emergency turned to a worse situation and even prebooked him for an appointment. I work in the reception field and value staff who display the type of empathy and mannerism she has. Definitely the type of employee you want in any clinic. The doctor that we saw was also very pleasant and made sure to get as much info from other doctors to make sure we had the best treatment plan for my fur baby and I’m happy to say he’s finally starting to feel better. And being the top quality place they are, they always follow up to see how Molson is doing. This will be the clinic I will constantly choose and the staff alone are far beyond superb and have mastered the definition of 5 star service .

Fantastic experience: You can usually get in fairly quickly for an appointment and the staff are great. They take their time, I haven't felt like I was rushed along. I've even been able to get some questions answered through email over a weekend which I wasn't expecting but certainly exceeded my expectation.

Fantastic experience: This was our first time bringing our cat to this animal hospital. Roland(our cat) made quite the impression they welcomed him with a warm heart and everyone is very kind and friendly. Definitely a recommended place to bring your animals.

Fantastic experience: I was a little skeptical going here after reading some of the reviews but I found the staff to be lovely, kind and caring. The vet we have is great with giving options and working with me to find solutions for my pets health. I love the clinic us open late so I don't have to take time off work to have an appointment or pick up meds.

Fantastic experience: I was completely overwhelmed by the compassion and thoughtfulness of the staff at the Animal Hospital. We had to have our beloved little kitty put to sleep. It was devastating, but the staff were just so kind and treated him with such gentle dignity. It meant so much to us.

Fantastic experience: I used this hospital for an emergency when my own clinic was closed. Dr. Kwok was great and her team were helpful. I was able to get treatment for my older cat and then followed up with my own vet. The treatment was antibiotics which have worked great and wet food that the cat won't entertain! I'm very happy they were able to see my old girl. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: The staff at AHC are amazing, always friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and their extended hours are super convenient. Every time my pup has been sick they can get me in the same day. Always have a great experience when we go, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: The kind, caring, compassionate staff are unlike any other. You feel welcomed, unrushed and like they truly care for you and your beloved pet. Over the phone, Vanessa spoke with a true warmth in her heart. My husband and I recently had to make one of the most difficult decisions, to let our sweet girl fly free. A huge thank you to the fabulous staff present on Sunday for treating us and our little Annie with the utmost care and respect. You all made the transition as easy and comfortable as it could possibly be. Myself, husband and Annie, are forever grateful. Keep up the excellent work!!

Fantastic experience: I chose this place after the cat clinic in Cambridge closed down and I'm glad I did. While covid has changed a few things, they really try to take into consideration that dogs and cats are stressed by each others presence. Not only that but they are thoughtful and understanding when I ask questions or need reassurance that all is well with my kitty Thanks again everyone.
