Fantastic experience: I went to the clinic for ankle pain and have been treated by Alexa! She is amazing and I am seeing improvement in my ankle mobility after a few weeks. All the staff is so friendly, I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I saw Alexa post ankle surgery from a hockey injury. I had been in a cast for 2+ months and at that time had lost a lot of mobility/ strength and was fearful of re-injuring myself. Thinking of returning to sport seemed so far out of reach at that time. As soon as I met Alexa she had me take my first few non cast steps and I realized maybe I could get back to running and playing hockey (the sports I love) with her help. Each session she helped me regain mobility and strength, informed me how I need to train and how not to as well! I am now back to playing regular hockey and running just slightly over a year post ankle ORIF and am so grateful to have had Alexa help me.

Fantastic experience: I’ve only started treatment at this location based on the recommendation of my massage therapist at a different location. My new physio, Matthew C is outstanding. He doesn’t just make an assessment and give me a paper that lists my exercises. Matthew provides hands on treatment but also very thoroughly explains what’s going on and details how the treatment and the exercises will correct my issues. I’ve been treated by a number of therapists over the years; Matthew is the only one who offers heat therapy after my treatment. I leave feeling great. I highly recommend Matthew C. The rest of the staff I’ve observed are professional and friendly. I also appreciate the reception staff are welcoming and efficient.

Fantastic experience: Back in January of this year I was in so much pain I could barely walk. I initially began seeing Alexa for a lower back pain I had been experiencing on and off for about 6 months. The way Alexa was detailed in her questions really showed me that she cared about the actual problem not just doing some bandaid fixes just to get me off the table. Alexa truly took her time and started to slowly help with the back pain. I only saw her for 4-5 months for this issue before we had fixed the pain. Not even a month later I had to email her about a knee pain issue. Immediately she got back to me and booked me in her schedule! Less than a month later she had me feeling well enough to run a 5km race that only she truly believed in me to run. Without her confidence in my ability to recover properly I would have opted out of the race and missed out on an experience of a life time. The week after that race I “graduated” from physio for my second issue. I couldn’t praise and recommend her enough! I’m sad that we don’t get our weekly catch up during our session!

He displayed unparalleled knowledge in the field and paired with it genuine care for my condition upon each visit. Fantastic experience: Having had a few visits now, I felt it was appropriate to add comment. I have been suffering and "living in fear" of my back injury rearing it's head at unexpected times causing me some real serious problems for over 15 years. I'm on week 3 of my treatment plan. I feel almost as I did when I first recovered from my first back injury 15 years ago. Matt and the team are excellent. Their environment is immaculate, pleasant and very welcoming. I could go on at length about my positive opinion of this team, however one only has so much room. If you are ready to take control of those old ouchies and feel young and strong again, please do yourself the favor and visit.

Fantastic experience: My first time doing physio and Barrhaven Physiotherapy, was recommended by my wife, she had been there a few years ago. She said Nick (Antaya) is the guy to see and he will get you back in shape. How true. Nick is friendly, easy going and quite experienced. From first visit, he had me in stitches (laughter), he goes over my condition, explain causes, educated me and what to expect from my back pain sessions. I was at ease and the exercises he gave were easy, sometimes hard for my old (over 50+) body, but I perservered and did everything. I feel much better now and will continue to do the program. Fantastic experience: As my wife and I continue to participate in organized sports and other athletic activities well into our sixties, injuries are inevitable as the body is no longer as resilient. Recovery times are also longer.... and that is where the Barrhaven Physiotherapy Clinic (BPC) comes in. Over the years due to booking conflicts I have had occasion to try other clinics, including highly recommended locations but none meet the same level of quality service and expertise I've enjoyed at BPC. You'll find clinics that have more chrome and fancy décor, but my priority is expertise and quick recovery. No one has pinpointed our issues and had us return to our active lifestyle quicker than Barrhaven Physiotherapy. You'll notice I have selfishly avoided naming my primary Physiotherapist, nor that of the young lady that treats my wife, but all staff is under the watchful eye and mentorship of their highly competent Manager (Nick)...... ooops! Without hesitation, I will continue to confidently place my health in the sure hands of the BPC therapists as I now migrate from soccer to pickleball, moving actively into my seventies!

Fantastic experience: I went to see Alexa a couple of weeks ago regarding chronic back pain. She really took the time to chat with me and figure out the problem. She gave me exercises to continue at home and I check in with her weekly and this back pain that I’ve had for months, is finally under control! Fantastic experience: Nick is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent physiotherapist. His initial assessment was thorough, ruling out any other possible conditions and isolating the specific problem with my back. The weekly physio sessions are scheduled conveniently before work so I haven’t had to take any time off. Nick explains the exercises extremely well, demonstrates and corrects positioning, and makes sure I understand how and why I am doing the exercises. The “homework” exercises are explained in detail, emailed to me and I am provided with videos on request if I am afraid I won’t remember the specifics. Nick is very approachable, listens to what you say and as a bonus - has a good sense of humour! Nick came highly recommended by a good friend and I would highly recommend him as well.

Fantastic experience: A recommendation was passed on to me that I should go to Barrhaven Physio, and set up an appointment with Nick. Supposedly, my complaints about aching knees was generating no sympathy. I had been dealing with aching knees for many years and just tried to work my own way out of it, with little success. Nick was great from the first visit. He took the time during the initial consultation to assess the underlying issues with my knees. Once finding a glaring weakness, he set me up with a gradual plan to address this weakness. I never felt the exercises caused undue pain, and the progressions were challenging but not overbearing. Nick has a great sense of humour, and the appointments would always generate laughter (from myself as well as others he was treating). After three weeks of sticking to his exercise plan, my gait has completely changed. I can walk with minimal discomfort and don’t feel the need to limp. I would highly recommend Nick at Barrhaven Physiotherapy.

Could not be more pleased - I presented with a complex injury and a long twisted health and body history ... and was desperate for hope and help. Nick is "aggressively curious" in the best way, meaning he really cares about what is going on and employs movement and exercise therapies that are spot on. I'm motivated to do them because I know they're going to help. It doesn't make sense for me to drive all the way from Orleans to see him - but it does when you realize care and skill like his are very rare. Unqualified recommendation! Pic is of my Level 2 hamstring tear ... that I brought here for treatment! This is the "before" picture - and I can't post the "after" really - it just looks like a leg now lol - but what is healing up and getting stronger inside is what BPC and Nick are working with me on!

Fantastic experience: I had agonizing pain in my upper back muscles. I called with short notice to Barrhaven physio. I was to travel in 4 days. I was given an appointment the next day, and the treatment really helped,. I managed to get one more treatment the day before I left. Amazing, my muscles had significantly released and I could actually sit on the plane. So far, I have not had to return. The prescribed exercises are keeping the pain at bay. Fantastic experience: Our family has been using the OPTSC (Barrhaven), primarily Nick, for MANY years now for different issues - dislocated shoulder and post surgery recovery, sporting injuries, plantar fasciitis, muscular skeletal issues and broken bones to name a few. Fantastic experience: Over several years I have been provided with excellent physio services at Barrhaven Physiotherapy, and my recent experience is no different. A few years ago I had a serious issue that my doctor ignored until an MRI proved there was an issue. The doctors could not help me with it, but my physiotherapist at Barrhaven Physiotherapy got me back in shape and back on the ski hill, and even recommended a competing service provider once they recognized I could benefit from different services. Fantastic experience: The first day I walked in the Barrhaven Physiotherapy Clinic, to me was a Clinic that cared for the safety of their clients. They cared for finding the right kind of treatment that suited me. I would notice how it was for every person attending that clinic as I waited for my wonderful therapist, Nick. Sending reminders and Covid Test questionnaires ahead of time was my queue that I was going into great hands. The receptionists were on top of everything. Never missed a beat. Though I never saw my Physio therapists face due to the mask rule, I was treated with care, given the reasons why certain exercises were being done, recommendations were given to me as to what I needed further, i.e. massage therapy, whom by the way never saw Lukes face either due to the mask. Everytime I went in for treatment I walked in a good mood and left in a better mood. Every joint, muscle was being worked on. But the conversations in between treatments made me stop thinking of the pain. I looked forward going in for treatments and the greetings and salutations were beyond what I have ever encountered. I knew I found the right Physiotherapy Clinic. Last week, I finally got to meet, well to see the two faces that made a difference but still making it even better. Fantastic experience: My experience with Nick was exceptional. He is highly skilled, attentive to detail and caring. He educated about my condition, created a personalised treatement plan and showed how each exercise affects the target muscle. Understanding the mechanics was helpful in staying motivated. After every visit, Nick sent me an email with the instructions for exercises covered in that visit and responded promptly when I had questions. His incredible sense of humour is specially helpful when one is voluntarily putting oneself through pain to get better. Thanks to Nick I have seen remarkable improvement in my condition. Fantastic physiotherapy services where the physiotherapist works with you the entire time and doesn't just hook you up to a machine and walk away. It's also a no frills clinic that isn't a glorified spa like other places nearby. I've been seeing Nick Antaya for the most recent recovery, and the experience has been second to none. Fantastic experience: In late 2022 and early 2023 I was dealing with what felt like a hopeless battle to recover from a MRI diagnosed herniated disc in my lower back at 32 years old. After two failed attempts at physio with other clinics, failed chiro, acupuncture, massage, 3 trips to the ER, multiple Dr. appointments, a plethora of opioids and prescriptions, countless sleepless nights and inability to be mobile, a year+ long wait list for a surgeon, I was not optimistic I would ever recover. I called OPTSC for help preparing for back surgery, and was paired with Alexa. Alexa’s care and commitment to her profession was and has been an absolute fateful experience for myself right from my first appt which I was barely able to hobble into on a cane. Through careful highly knowledgable trial and error increasingly more difficult exercises, Alexa restored my optimism that I could avoid surgery. As well, she taught thoroughly about the injury providing an understanding of the muscles, joints and tendons that needed treatment. Her dedication and genuine concern for me as a person to recover has been a shining light on some of the darkest days I have experienced. I never felt like just another patient. Alexa’s approach made me feel like my injury was also her injury to solve, and she made it a fun and positive experience along the way. She has transformed what was 9/10 constant pain while on meds to no pain at all, and no more pills! I am back to my active lifestyle all thanks to this team. He is absolutely an amazing physiotherapist and through his skill set , knowledge and a great deal of patience , brought me from a point in which I was unable to walk without some aid (crutches ,walker ) to walking completely on my own . I completely contribute my recovery to Nick and although I know there is still a long road ahead , I feel confident that with continued therapy, with Nick and the team , that I will gain back the full use of my legs.
