Fantastic experience: I was a proud member of the Gym fitness club some years ago, I can say that Rebecca Ingram is not only an amazing entrepreneur and amazing mother to five amazing kids, but an absolute inspiration to all of her clientele and a true motivational representation of what health and fitness is! He drive is without saying, especially raising an amazing family all on her own. What Covid did to her and so many others is disgusting. During the hardest times we have ever experienced in the world it is essential for people to embrace, health and fitness. It was always a wonderful experience working out at this amazing lady’s gym and I hope to one day return ! Keep up the amazing work Rebecca!

Negative experience: Not clean anymore, New owner of the gym change not only the name but the policies and treatments of members. Due to unforseen circumstances I needed to be away for more than 6 months, Robin the owner did not want to freeze my membership nor transfer it to friends or reimburse me, a lot of drama and head games,no solutions. And often this place do not answers phone calls, it goes to fax, very unprofessional. I won't be returning or recommending.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this gym for just over 4 months. There was an ownership change fairly recently. However, I have to say that it was for the better. The gym is always extremely clean and properly maintained. Also, the new owner is very friendly and constantly listening to advice from patrons. Overall, I would definitely recommend this gym, considering the price and quality.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and tidy all the time- the staff truly care about this place and it shows! Comparable to a big box gym in terms of space and equipment bredth - they have everything you want. You can tell that this place is Rebecca's absolute pride and joy.

Positive experience: I like The Gym. It's exactly what I wanted out of a gym experience. The pricing is very competitive, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. The sign up process was easy and pressure free, and I'm comforted knowing that when I'm ready to move on I won't have to turn into some hoop jumping showdog in order to cancel. The facilities are in good condition, and at least as far as my experience has shown, not cramped and overcrowded. I haven't had to wait for my machine, and I don't have other patrons standing there watching me jiggle and sweat while they wait their turn, which is nice. The whole experiencing for me, a filthy casual, is a laid back one. I wander in, hop on the elliptical, and then head out. No pressure to sign up for their classes, no personal trainers trolling for clients, and no pushy gym bros judging me with their eyes. And while they do have all those things, none of them are ever shoved in my face on the daily. They have a women's only section, a fairly robust looking free weights section, supplements and swag, and a juice bar. But I live only for the elliptical, so I can only say that those things definitely exist as options. I would definitely recommend The Gym to anyone looking for an easy-going fitness experience, and while I can't speak to anyone after a more serious dedication to muscles, they sure seem like they cater to them as well.

Fantastic experience: Lockers are free to use with your own lock, more than enough machines and free weights. No fellow members waste time taking up machines while on their phone; everyone knows why they're there and are kind.

Fantastic experience: We were visiting from Vancouver and looking for some gym options. After calling some chain brands and getting the runaround over online forms, temporary memberships, and paying for key fobs, we found The Gym. A quick call confirmed no membership was needed, just a reasonable drop in fee. The Gym is spacious, good quality equipment, and wasn’t jam packed. Staff were friendly and made us feel at home. We would highly recommend this business for anyone visiting Calgary.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here for the last month or so. I was tired of big name gyms charging me so much money for basic memberships. This place is incredible, no hidden fees or contracts . The people who work here are extremely friendly and welcoming. This is a great environment to get a lift in. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: This place is THE prime example of how to properly remain open while adhering to all public safety restrictions and requirements. It’s very refreshing to see how well they have adapted to the ever changing COVID restrictions. Every staff member on shift is constantly sanitizing any and all surfaces, assuring all 1 on 1 training sessions are done in a safe and professional manner, and maintaining a strict 1 hour time limit for all members. I have been, and will continue to recommend everyone to support this amazing and resilient business. Whether it be safe and professional 1 on 1 training, or even just to purchase a shake or some supplements, I recommend The Gym to absolutely everybody. Anybody out there who has anything bad to say about how The Gym is running clearly has no idea what it truly means to maintain good health. Bravo guys, keep up the good work.

Such a clean facility and the equipment is impeccable. No other gym can compare to this one! I guarantee anyone that comes through these doors are going to come and leave with a smile on their face.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here with a friend since summer of 2020 and honestly this has been the best gym I’ve been to by far. The owner Rebecca is always cleaning!! So the place is spotless and truly I’m comfortable walking barefoot if needed. I love a clean gym! She truly care about her guests and had done everything possible to make this place the best space for us. Her prices are very reasonable, lots of good equipment and it’s never super packed which is a bonus. Not to mention this place has such a welcoming atmosphere. I’m a bit newer to this industry and I’m always nervous about going to new gyms and I can honestly say this place was so great. Not only the owner and employees but the other guests all feel so non judgmental and are super friendly. I would way rather be out here supporting a small local business who has pure intentions for her guests over a large company who’s only interested in your money. This place is really worth checking out so you can understand for yourself why it’s working becoming a member.

Fantastic experience: I LOVE this gym. The owner is such a sweetheart and you can tell that she is passionate about her business, cares about the customers, and loves fitness! When I first walked into this place I was welcomed, I wasn’t pressured to sign up for a membership once, it’s so nice that they’re genuine and aren’t trying to sell you something constantly. The prices are great and the 5$ drop in is so convenient for when you want to bring a friend to work out !! Even the staff that work here seem happy... at other gyms I’ve gone to everyone seems cranky and stressed out. The clients that work out here are all really nice, it’s a great environment and I love coming here. To the gym owner: thank you so much for creating such a wonderful space for us to come and workout in!

Positive experience: Just on a 7 day trial right now, has a pretty cool vibe and good equipment. Would probably say 3 stars if I didn't have headphones though as a bunch of the lads were slamming their little weights, also I might recommend you bring lifting straps if you don't have a strong grip since a bunch of the machines are missing their grips

I would have given five stars if it were not for the these really overbearing couple who deliberately came into our space while training and later complained that we were not social distancing lmao but fortunately that has nothing to do with the establishment.

Only bummer now more recently is that it's so busy, so its more difficult to use equipment. Really happy for this family though, as my family has been going here for over a decade and has seen the growth over time. Really nice place to be overall.

Positive experience: The drop-in was only $5 dollars. The gym used to be a powerlifting gym, so you'll be surrounded by more serious goers than your usual commercial gyms. They have all your basic needs for working out. The only reason I dropped the rating is because they aren't taking the safety procotols for covid seriously. I was the only one wearing a facemask. Not even the employees were wearing one. Very few gym members are wiping down the equipments after use.

Fantastic experience: This is an absolutely amazing place, the owner and her family make The Gym a warm welcoming experience from the second you enter the door. Smiles laughs, and great energy all around. The personal trainers are top quality and are driven to help anyone achieve the goals they have. I would give this place 10 starts just based on atmosphere alone. I have trained in gyms from Ontario to British Columbia, THE GYM is second to none. So if you want a great place to train where you feel like a big family, GET DOWN TO THE GYM AND CHECK IT OUT IT WORTH YOUR TIME. Especially if your not into paying more $$$ for a big box gym to decal the walls and make pretend and overreaching safety precautions ( that they don't and cant follow) at all to "attempt" to make them look better then the competition.(which they are failing at). Let's get the money back into the community and to the people like The Gym which has been a part of the Lifting Community in calgary for over 25 years Come down to The join the family you will be happy you stopped by!!!!

Positive experience: Clean gym. It costs $5.25 including tax for a single use. There is ample parking space. Various equipment available. A place where free weights are allowed. There are shower rooms and restrooms.

Fantastic experience: The gym fitness club is hands down one of the best gyms in Calgary. The gym is fully renovated top to bottom with many things to offer. Juice bar, tanning, showers, saunas, jujitsu, supplement store, girls only, warm up area and even a tattoo shop. When you join the gym it isn’t just a place to workout it’s a family with many lovely people to talk to including staff! They are always so helpful if you need literally anything food, drinks, memberships, tanning, help working out or just a good conversation after a stressful day, their always there for their members. No matter how busy the gym is it is always clean. Staff are always running around cleaning equipment, mirrors, floors and bathrooms. Good vibe, good people and great gym. Definitely go check it out they have amazing prices and deals every week!
