Negative experience: Initial few years had really good experiences with Dr. Joelle. However it really started feel like my appointments were very rushed and my concerns were not addressed- same adjustment every time no matter what my issue was. Mentioned an ankle feeling off , 2 sessions she didn't touch it despite mentioning it each time. 3rd time I asked if they even adjust limbs or just the back, she said they do and still didn't touch on it at all. Next time I saw her, I don't think she was in the room longer than 2 or 3 minutes. Gave Dr. Kelly a try and he fixed my ankle pain issue in one session and gave some great home care. Switched between them all for a while but found they're consistent running late and/or appointments feel very rushed. A later time when rebooking, I realized why my appointments felt so rushed- seems they book 1 person every 5 min. Hard to give good patient care when you aren't scheduling enough time to actually consult with them to find the source of the problem. Really a shame because the initial few years going here were all really great but then it just feels like they're putting profits over patients and I finally got fed up at it feeling like a waste of money. Switched to a different clinic quite some time ago and haven't looked back since.

Negative experience: Would not recommend bringing your baby/child here. Very pushy on supplements.

The nature of the industry I work in can really take a toll on my back to which I am stuck in bed missing work…cautious when playing around with my 2 year old son, now I’m back enjoying my personal hobbies to boot!!! Fantastic experience: I had trauma to my spine, to the point where I was leaning to the right. After Dr. Kelly’s adjustments, I couldn’t believe I was instantly straight, not only did he improve the quality of my life, he took the time to show me numerous exercises to do as a game plan to ensure my spine stays straight. Those exercises are amazing, and when I do them I feel youthful again. Then a while ago, I had pea size ball of fluid, at the base of my ear. As I take a trickle of pain killer, I couldn’t determine where the pain was coming from, as my ear, jaw, base of skull, and neck, all were throbbing. I first checked with my dentist, then medical doctor. They were extremely helpful, but the pain endured. After I saw Dr. Kelly, he made numerous adjustments that included my neck. I had never twisted my neck before, in fact it was so slight a twist that at first I didn’t recall what I did. Then later, while doing housework I accidentally twisted it again, could feel it instantly pinch. I didn’t realize the totality of my symptoms and horrible pain were and could have been caused by a pinched nerve in my neck. Also I had no idea that the lymph fluid that pooled by my ear causing sleepless nights, could be instantly fixed with an adjustment. And once, Dr. Kelly was extremely thoughtful in taking the time on instructional care for my neck. Dr. Kelly I can’t thank you enough! After each treatment I do feel fabulous!

Fantastic experience: It's evident when someone is passionate about their practice in the care they provide and that's exactly what comes to mind when I think of the care we received from Dr Joelle Johnson. After hearing multiple people recommend her for her work with children I brought my 3 month old daughter to Dr Joelle. The best way to describe it is I handed her one baby and she gave me a whole new baby. It's hard to put to words the relief she provided my daughter.. This being my second child I knew something was off, especially when holding my daughter was awkward and visibly uncomfortable for her. From the beginning of each appointment to the end Dr Joelle is attentive, sympathetic and reassuring. Not once did I feel like a stranger despite it being the first time meeting her as she has such a warm and caring presence. Her efforts to continuously enhance her education and expand her skillset are even more evidence of the passion she has for what she does, and it is why I will not hesitate to recommend her to everyone I know especially parents! The office is set up with family in mind, which you see in every room from the playhouse in the waiting room to the toys in the Dr rooms. I cannot say enough good about Family First Chiropractic especially Dr Joelle Johnson!

Positive experience: Everyone has been nothing short of friendly, Dr. Elton is great! Their pricing is reasonable for the chiropractic. They have direct billing for any benefits you may have. Their premises are clean and bright. They even have a little corner for children to entertain themselves while mom or dad gets an adjustment or massage

Fantastic experience: After a couple years of not going to a chiropractor... I really started feeling like aging was wiping me out. I finally got to a point where I knew my efforts in the gym weren't allowing me to have the energy that I used to have that enabled me to bounce around with ease. I felt as though I'd hit a plateau in everything in life cause I was struggling to live with misalignments and subluxations. A constant discomfort. And naturally it was showing up in other areas of my life. You know.... Kinda like ..every where I am! Finally after 4 treatments with Dr Kelly, which I felt progressively better after each adjustment.... Now I feel it while running on the track again. Omg does it ever feel good to run with no pain ..... And forcing it till endorphins gave me a boost of natural pain killers. I 100% feel at least 10 years younger again. Thank you Dr. Kelly.

The clinic is family-friend and all the staff is super accommodating and welcoming. Dr. Joelle is super knowledgeable and truly cares about our family’s well-being. We love going to Family First!

Fantastic experience: I have been a long-time client of an RMT at another clinic, but occasionally try to branch out. Today I was booked with Li. I have always preferred a female so was nervous going in. My area of concern is neck and shoulder tension due to repetitive job-related movement. Hands down this was the most intensive (in a good way!) massage I have ever received. Li was highly methodical and offered a more "physiotherapy" type of massage (but for an entire hour!). He was nothing less than professional and pleasant. I will no doubt be booking with Li again. Now for the office in general: Pros: -beautiful, clean, modern facility -front-desk staff (Laura) was wonderful -ease of booking; very reasonable rates Cons: -other front desk staff (didn't catch her name) was not so inviting. I too work the front desk of a healthcare facility in Red Deer where I answer the same questions from the public over and over again. I get it, dealing with the public is draining. However, the tone of voice you greet patients with when saying "Hi, how can I help you?" says more than the words themselves. -106.7 The Drive was playing in the treatment room in the static-y fashion Clearview Meadows is so famous for. Not the most relaxing ambiance lol All in all: Li gave the best massage I have had to date. For that reason, I will be back.

Fantastic experience: A few years ago I took my 1year old son to see Dr. Joelle as he was having digestive issues, with a few appointments we saw wonderful results. This year I was pregnant with twins, Dr Joelle worked with me through all of the pregnancy symptoms and the aches and pains of growing 2 babies. Not only did she help with the treatment throughout my pregnancy, she also provided me with valuable information and support. She is a wealth of knowledge and shares that in a very informative and compassionate way. Along with her staff and massage therapist Christina they made accommodations for me to be able to continue to get prenatal massages until the very end. All of the care and support I received helped me go to 38 weeks with my twins and have a healthy natural birth. I cannot say enough about Dr Joelle and the whole team at Family First. I would highly recommend Family First!

Negative experience: Baf organizing with no respect for my time. The cancelled my appointment with 2 hour notice and later they didn't book an appointment for me. When I am following treatment for 3 months . And the older lady at front desk was very rude to me and my wife. She was horrible like we were an inconvenience to her.

Fantastic experience: I did something to my lower back a few weeks ago and I figured it would get better on it's own. Then all of a sudden one day I could barely move. I didn't know what to do. Go to the hospital? Physio? A friend of mine said to try a Chiropractor since I had never been to one before. I had no hope to be honest, it was that bad. I was blown away after my first visit. I couldn't believe the difference. Dr Kelly was able to get me in for an emergency appointment on a Saturday morning. It was a game changer for me. If you've never tried or considered chiropractic therapy and you're having any pain, you would be crazy not to try it.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Elton Clemence is Extremely thorough in his Chiropractic Care. I am a mechanic and am always twisting my body in weird positions or holding my hands above my head for many hours of the day at work and would come home feeling completely broken and a lot of days no being able to stand, walk, pick up my baby without being in a lot of pain. since coming under Dr. Elton's care i feel great when coming home from work, no longer feel pain like I used to after a long day. He takes the time needed to accurately and effectively treat soreness and pain. would highly recommend Family First chiropractic and specifically Dr.Elton Clemence to other mechanics or labour intensive Jobs.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kelly has been working on an older shoulder injury for me. The progress I’ve make is remarkable. He understands the complexity of shoulders and their difficulty with healing. My pain and stiffness has diminished greatly. I highly recommend seeing Dr Kelly if your having any shoulder difficulties.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Joelle and her staff are wonderful. She is compassionate about her patients and you can tell she loves what she does. We started to see her with one of our newborns years ago to help with reflux, since then she helped through additional pregnancies and our whole family now sees her regularly. We would recommend her to anyone in all walks of life.

Fantastic experience: Great friendly doctors and staff. Don’t pressure you to keep coming every 2 weeks like other chiros have for me in the past. Beautiful clinic that was recently renovated. There is a chiro cabana (playhouse) for the kids and they love it!

Negative experience: The front desk staff is welcoming and the office is beautiful. I had seen Dr. Elton Clemence.. I will not go back to the clinic based on this appointment. I had very high anxiety about going into this appointment and I should have walked out before he even started. He had a very arrogant attitude that was very intimidating. I did not feel welcome or heard about my concerns. He didn't communicate with me what so ever besides ordering me to turn over and what not. Based on my previous chiropractor visits (different chiropractor in the past) I figured that we would work together and come up with a treatment plan but that did not happen. This experience was very disheartening and left me quite upset. I walked out feeling worse than I did when I went in.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Elton is patient, thorough and makes sure the muscles are relaxed and warmed up before treatment. I would HIGHLY recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Can't believe I waited so long to come back!! My husband and myself both were helped immensely by the Doctors and staff here at Family First. Dr Kelly had me feeling like a new person but I made the mistake of not coming back a few times a year after he had my back, hips and shoulders back to new after my car accident and dislocating my shoulder. After 3 years, I am back to see him and couldn't be feeling better! After I am back to 100% I will definitely be seeing them every few months to keep in check! Thanks for taking incredible care of us after everything!! I 10000% recommend here for any chiropractic and/or massage therapy.

Fantastic experience: In the middle of home renovations I popped my lower back out, I was in so much pain I could hardly walk let alone continue on with the renovations. Fantastic experience: Dr. Joelle is amazing not only as a chiropractor, but also as a sounding board for motherhood & work-related frustrations. I had regular visits with her during my pregnancy & both kids see her regularly too. Her adjustments & advice helped us though many “normal” infant/toddler stages & now help to keep us healthy during the winter & school years. The office staff are wonderful & my kids still love the toys that are available.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Family First Chiropractic and am a patient of Dr Kelly’s for 10 years. Started out as a maternity patient when I was pregnant and then became a more complex case when I got Chronic Lyme Disease in 2017. Addressing symptoms of joint pain throughout my body, dizziness and extreme fatigue, Dr. Kelly has helped me regain some functionality and mobility. With regular care for maintenance I notice my symptoms aren’t so severe. I highly recommend Family First for anyone experiencing chronic symptoms or pain, as part of an overall functional medicine approach to healing.

Negative experience: Had such an amazing experience the first time there without a doubt expected the same for my second time ever. It was less then 8 mins and I originally came in for my back the pressure of breastfeeding causes between the bra straps to be tight. For some reason it was my hips and pelvis that was the focus. I thought I made it very clear I do not like fast or loud things. There should have been notes that manual manipulation is never an option always prefer the thing that clicks...well it all happened so fast by the time she did one side I was so uncomfortable I do not like anything touching my neck. I asked for the other way. (Click thing) for the other side. It felt so rushed it literally took my longer to drive there then actually being in there with the doctor, if there was notes in my file then absolutely more time and consideration should have been applied. I sat in my car for a good 10 mins not knowing what the heck just happened. Inbetween my shoulders is so tight as the problem was not fixed like the first time. (first time she applied pressure with her forearm bewteen the shoulder blades) I CALLED reception only to be told she will call me but to no avail. Here I am next day cant even move my neck. Super sad about the whole experience feels like for 50 dollars less then 8 mins was excessive there should be more time for people who have on file special notes to acutally listen to those. I don't think i will ever go anywhere else the manual manipulation on my neck really threw me off as I know specifically that was everything I did NOT want loud and sudden. I am mortified and in super pain on the side of my neck she cranked with her hands. Wish we were looked at as individuals and not just money. Ptsd is real. Specifically charted notes should have that and be absolutely followed. 50 dollars for that experience was absolutely mortifying.

Fantastic experience: I had been going to Christina (RMT) for many months for deep tissue massage therapy when she worked in Sylvan Lake and when I learned she was starting at Family First Chiropractic in Red Deer I booked with her right away. She is great at what she does and I would highly recommend her for anyone looking to start massage therapy or looking for a change.

Negative experience: Update: emergency MRI completed, pinched nerve in two places due to herniated discs. Goodbye everything ive worked for in life. If you ever want to trust a facility for proper care i dont suggest you go here. First off their assessment consists of someone with questionable experience take a couple pics of you standing against the wall while she holds a ruler up. I walked in for routine adjustment before working a 20 day hitch instead i limped out with my torso out of line to my lower body due to a bad adjustment. After 24 hours of trying to ice it and babysit it i found myself laying on the floor of an ER. Xrays showed 3 severely inflamed discs in an area of my back that has never given me grief ever. Now into my 5th week out of work i have ridiculous nerve pain that is almost disabling from my lower back all the way to my now tingling left foot. It causes terrible digestive issues, doesn't allow me to sleep much and has me on multiple prescriptions. This "wellness" center has caused me extreme, financial, physical and mental pain as well as a growing stress of no income. I went in there a couple weeks later to collect my file and the people at the front desk did their absolute best to not even look at me. Real classy place, steer clear and go absolutely anywhere else! Since telling this story ive had a few more folks contact me with issues and injuries sustained from this place. The best part is they dont care a single bit about my condition. As long as you got paid, who cares, right Family First?!??!

Negative experience: Absolutely awful experience. Came for a Cranialsacral adjustment. The doctor did not stop saying “oh god. Oh no. This is awful. This is the worst I’ve seen. Wow how is this so bad??” The entire adjustment on my 7 month old. Provided no hope, only said awful prognosis’s. Was very rough on him, winding him with every push. Cracked his neck with the fast head snap. I wish any parent would research anywhere else first.

I started going there when I was pregnant and in extreme pain when I called the office the very first time, they were so kind to fit me in the same day and I felt so much better after 2 visits. She’s very knowledgeable and always gives her time to listen to my concerns. She’s great with kids too and they love going there. Pleasant atmosphere, a very friendly staff and a great space for kids.

Fantastic experience: You know it's good when you come to give 5 stars and see you already did! They really do accommodate families so well and it's so appreciated by a busy family like mine. My partner and I both had appointments today (on a Saturday) but they were about half hour apart. Rather than having to go home to drop off me and the kids and have my partner rush back for his appointment, we were able to hangout while I nursed my baby in the well equipped nursing corner and my kiddos played in the adorable play area they have set up. The staff is always great, they direct bill, and Dr.Joelle always leaves me feeling great. Love and appreciate this place as much as they clearly appreciate their patients!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Joel is amazing and very informative. I went to her on the recommendation of a midwife clinic to flip my breach baby. She tried her very best and he did go from full breach to transverse - he’s a stubborn little dude. She’s also been seeing my husband for his back and neck and he’s very pleased with her.

Positive experience: Dr. Joelle is an excellent chiropractor. Unlike many chiropractors, her treatment is not painful, and the positive effects can be felt immediately. Before seeing her I had very severe back and neck pain and now no longer take painkillers at all. Unfortunately, if you don't have insurance, $50 for a 5-minute adjustment gets expensive quickly. It's worth it because I've seen many chiropractors and she's the best; I just wish I could afford to go more often.

Fantastic experience: Great team at family first! When I had my daughter in feb this year we noticed she seemed to favor her right side and was very fussy. She didnt seem to be happy no matter how she was held and the the sling we had she didnt enjoy either.We took her to see dr. Joelle and what a difference! She is a much happier baby, and I'm a happier mama! Dr joelle was able to assess and adjust and prided exercises for us to do. She was even able to help us out with her tongue tie. Her expertise and attention to detail is phenomenal. She provided us with education and understood and listen to our concerns. I highly recommend going and getting your baby assessed! Its amazing what a difference it makes!

I started going to Dr. Joelle when pregnant as I heard she has a ton of experience with pregnancy and children, & I didn't feel as comfortable with my chiropractor at the time, while I was pregnant. Dr. Joelle had so much knowledge & worked on my son after he was born, I do believe her work helped clear up his reflux issues. I have gone since being pregnant for some back pain issues & always feel better afterwards. I'm surprised at these negative reviews below, because I've had nothing but good experiences there, & always get in quickly (same day if needed) & never had to wait very long for my appointment.

Negative experience: If I could give no stars I would, one star is too generous for this place. I used to come here, after my old chiropractor passed and it was the biggest mistake. I went in for minor back pain and ended up with sciatica as I was adjusted in ways that were uncomfortable and unnecessary, adjusting places that were never issues making everything much worse to the point where I couldn’t get out of bed or walk and still had back pain, I even had to take a leave from work due to being bed ridden. They wanted me to come 2-3 times a week and used my benefits up for the year in a month, they also didn’t inform me my benefits were up so I had to pay $200 up front. They only care about money and making sure you keep coming back and spending more money than necessary. They should change their name to money first. Joelle is as rude, verbally abusive and unprofessional as a person can possibly be. I cannot believe the disrespect I have received as a paying client as well as her bullying and belittling me. I would recommend literally any other place but here, I’m sure even hell would be better since that’s what I’ve been through here. Needless to say this place ruined my chiropractic experience along with my health and I will never be able to trust another chiropractor again.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Joelle has worked wonders on our 10 month old! Each appointment we see improvement. She gives us excercises to do at home. Very professional and friendly reception staff. Great space for kids.
