Ottawa Health: Performance and Rehabilitation

Fantastic experience: I undertook the VO2 max -bike- performance assessment under the direction of Dr. Rich & Med colleague Alexie (sorry if misspelling) on Dec 9, 2024. I felt very comfortable & did good. Dr. Rich explained in details to me the various data/graph test outputs on the spot and provided the full report after the test. I'm going to do it again in 1 year:)

Fantastic experience: I appreciated having a spot open up for me during a short visit to Ottawa. They opened up a spot to test my VO2 max in the performance vault. The process was explained well from start to finish. They explained my results and gave me some suggestions to improve my VO2 max even further.

Fantastic experience: Ive had a great experience here with the health program and working with the NP. They went through a transition phase and handled it so well and make sure I was taken care of through the whole thing. They have been quick to respond and get me appointments. 100% recommend.

Fantastic experience: I am happy to be a member of OHP. Dr Rich is very knowledgeable and experienced. Nurse practitioners Kathleen Hogue and Jenny St Jean are supportive in every way. I do not have to wait for my prescriptios or referrals. They are certainly ontop of their game. Very caring group of people. Receptionist Victoria returns my calls almost immediately and gives excellent "patient service". I recommend Thank you all.

Negative experience: The review is specific to the nurse practitioner program. I have no experience with any of the other services they offer. Unfortunately I can't recommend this service to anyone. It is a great idea but the execution is terrible - no-notice cancellations, late appointments. It's just not a significant step up from what is available free from the province. This isn't a comment on the nurse practitioners themselves. The one I saw was fine. The clinic just isn't set up to deliver this service.

Fantastic experience: I’m a professional golfer and Stephanie and Christine volunteered to help us get ready for the tournament. They were great! They were understanding of our body motions that create the problems we come in with. I left feeling refreshed and ready to play.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Christine Radd assessed me then put me on a stretching and exercise routine that had me back on my feet in no time. I was very impressed with her knowledge of the anatomy. But the handiest thing had to be the app, which demonstrates each exercise using a video.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy to have had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Christine Rad. Her exercise suggestions and kinetic explanations have been extremely good for me. And since Dr. Rad outfitted me with new orthotics, my feet have never been more comfortable! My knees and lower back are also feeling positive changes. On a recent vacation where my wife and I took daily walks of 3 to 4 hours duration, I felt great. For over 3 weeks we frequently logged 15,000 - 20,000 steps daily, some of it up and down some serious mountainous terrain. I never once felt any distress!

Fantastic experience: I race XC skiing - and I am old AF - so I was curious about how un-fit I was. I was so excited to find an accessible VO2 Max Test for a normal dude like me. I scheduled online - easy. I was nervous about the process -should I do the bike or the treadmill. I went treadmill -even though I don't consider myself a "runner" - even though I used to be a competitive Road cyclist. I was nervous. I was ready. The mask was tight, but comfortable. I was free to run normally. The test was explained to me in simple, relevant detail. The test was hard - but so worth it. The data it gives you is a true eye opener. There is not one fitness tracker, HR monitor, or other gadget you can buy that will give you the information this test provides. It changed the way I trained - seriously. Just do it. You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Dr. Christine Rad after suffering from back pain for over a year. She gave me a personalized program for the severe level of pain I was experiencing. The lifesaver for me was her recommendation to try to get in to a pool to exercise. The exercises in the pool gave me relief and gave me the confidence to move forward in my recovery. Her clear explanation of the reason for my pain has given me a better understanding moving forward. I am grateful for her support.

Fantastic experience: I'm seeing Dr. Richar. I wasn't sure chiropractice was what I needed, but I really like his more holistic approach. I was expecting to have my back cracked and then leave, but it's much more than that. He added a physiotherapy twist to it, with exercices to build strength, so my problem doesn't reoccur.

Fantastic experience: Had a “chronic” back issue that others had said would require regular weekly appointments for several months… saw Dr Rad twice, who said if I stick to exercises she prescribed, I shouldn’t need to come back. 4 months later, I’m writing this review to say she was right. Fantastic experience: The Squatting Masterclass Seminar was amazing! The class was very informative. The book material was enhanced with a good slide presentation to provide visuals to the concepts discussed. In addition, the opportunity to practice the assessments learned under the guidance of Dr. Raigoza, Dr. Rad and Dr. Hemstock helped reinforce what was learned allowing me to use it immediately with my group fitness and personal training clients the next day.

Fantastic experience: Dr Christine Rad was awesome in curing my Plantar Fasciitis. Her ability to assess and treat me and cure me fast is why highly recommend her and going to OHPR!

Fantastic experience: I went to the clinic because of a severe and chronic problem with a hip tendonopathy that was preventing my running and even making walking a bit of a challenge. I asked for Shockwave treatment as I had learned, from a sports physician, that this was preferable to cortisone for treating this condition. I had had a couple of shockwave treatments in my home city a month earlier, but they did not do much for me. Ottawa Health has the latest and more powerful Shockwave equipment, so I thought I would give it a try. Dr. Stephanie was my therapist. I had four treatments altogether, and while it took awhile, it worked. Stephanie was excellent. Friendly and thoroughly professional. The clinic setting is attractive and welcoming. I strongly recommend this clinic for this type of treatment for injuries like mine. I am back running, with occasional twinges, but as forecast the remediation is progressing and I am well satisfied.

Fantastic experience: Ottawa Performance and Rehab (Chiropractic care, physiotherapy and massage therapy) have helped me tremendously over the years with some injuries that occurred at my work. With their help and expertise I was able to return to work almost immediately and with less pain. They are an incredible team that strive for their patient's well-being. Fantastic experience: Due to the awful state of decay of our Canadian health system, the lack of a family doctor, and long wait times at hospitals, I chose to seek alternative treatment when I became ill with joint and muscular discomfort that affected my movements and caused me to become weak. I won't go into detail about the options that didn't work, but I will tell you about the ONE that did. OTTAWA HEALTH: PERFORMANCE AND REHABILITATION and Dr. Rich Raigoza provided me with a comprehensive evaluation in an excellent and professional manner that I haven't seen in over 30 years. For me, honesty is extremely valued, and when Dr. Raigoza informed me he was unable to treat me in my current condition, I realized I needed to see a medical practitioner. But Dr. Raigoza's assistance did not end there. He wrote me an ideal letter detailing what "he thought was wrong with me" and recommending that I see a rheumatologist. This was an enormous benefit at the hospital; I got the rheumatologist recommendation I needed and am now on my way to recovery. When I'm feeling better, I'll return to Ottawa Health: Performance and Rehabilitation for my chiropractic needs. I am pleased to endorse this establishment, especially with a Registered Nurse on the way to open a walk-in clinic.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stephanie Hemstock was fabulous. I like how she works with the muscles first before doing any chiropractic adjustment. I was dealing with some tightness in my right shoulder and neck as well as tendonitis in my thumb. She didn't cut any corners to any of the concerns I had, and she made sure to talk to me about what she was noticing as she worked on the troubled areas. Very thankful for her!

Fantastic experience: When I first came to Ottawa, I was looking for a chiropractor because of chronic neck pain and tightness all over my body. When I searched online this clinic came out. It wasn’t called this because Dr Raigoza bought the clinic a year after I started going there. They are amazing people. I was taking the bus to go there and the hour long trip is SO worth it. They listen to you and they find solutions to your problems. I did acupuncture, readjustments and pressure point massages. They are truly great. Unfortunately after 4 years I have to leave Ottawa so I won’t be able to go see them anymore, but if you’re looking for help, they are the ones you need !

I have struggled with back issues for years, it was especially difficult last year when I injured my back and was out of sport for almost a year. Dr. Rich, Attilia, Robin, Daniella, and Corey consistently provided me with an exceptional experience. Not only did they get me doing the things I love again, they managed my expectations and helped me during a very difficult time. They are incredibly responsive to my emails and can always find time for me when my body feels off. Fantastic experience: I have had an excellent experience at OHPR! I have been suffering with shoulder and back pain, as well as mobility issues, since 2018 and have been in physio for years. I have made huge strides in my recovery thanks to Dr. Christine Rad. In the few short months I have been seeing her, she has treated me with professionalism and compassion, and I have gone from needing a walker to only needing a cane and walking unassisted about 50% of the time. She truly has gotten to the root of the issue and given me manageable but challenging exercises to target these areas. She is so encouraging and a great listener. It makes you excited for appointments and eager to do your exercises. The online app to track your exercises is great as well, and the admin staff is always kind and accommodating when myself or my husband have had last minute work things come up. I can't recommend this clinic enough!

Fantastic experience: From the first day I noticed a huge improvement. The goal is to stabilize my spine to prevent relapses in the future.

Negative experience: I needed to change my appointment on short notice because I was not well. I was disappointed to find that they have a strict cancellation policy. Times are difficult for everyone especially those who are sick. It is a pity that they have lost sight of people's situations that are sometimes out of their control. They have lost a loyal customer.

Fantastic experience: Ever since the lockdown I had a lot of mobility issues appear around my body which made life kinda difficult. I thought I’d never move past them but then a friend of mine recommended seeing Dr. Raigoza. I had seen a physio therapist in the past but to me it seemed like they were more interested in getting the most money out of me so that made me a little skeptical. Without a doubt I can say that is not the experience you’ll get from these guys especially Dr. Raigoza, he’s an absolute legend!! Immediately after my first session with him I was already feeling my body loosening up again and not only that he was very understanding when it came to some last minute appointment cancelations. All around 10/10 for me and will definitely keep seeing them in the future.

Fantastic experience: Dr Nardine Bekhit is an excellent Chiropractor. She got me back on my feet and on the golf course within 2 weeks. She actually got down on the floor with me to demonstrate the exercises. She is the consummate professional. I highly recommend her for your treatments.

Fantastic experience: I had a back issue out of the blue one day. I setup an appt with Dr. Rich, he was absolutely amazing. I was so glad to have met him. Not only did my pain disappear after the 1st session, I also learned so much from him. He is so patient, so caring and just by speaking to him half the pain goes away. Fantastic experience: My husband and I are patients of Dr. Richar Raigoza since 2020. He treated multiple issues that I had - neck, jaw, back pain. I have migraines and headaches, it happened many times that I came for a session with the pain and it was gone after the treatment. I also visited Dr. Richar during all the time of my pregnancy, I don’t know how my back would have survived without his help. Robyn (massages therapist) is amazing too - such a great relief if you have any pain or stiffness.

Fantastic experience: My job is very physical and I don't use my legs most of the time when I'm lifting at work and so my lower back has been hurting me for awhile. I ended up getting a back spasm one morning when I woke up and my wife had to drive me to the hospital, I was in so much pain that it hurt to move or breath. After that incident my brother in law recommended me to go and see he's professional chiropractor Dr. Richar for a session and Im really glad that I did! Dr. Richar is so knowledgeable in he's work field, he will walk you through the process of the pain that you might be experiencing so you understand what is going on or what needs to be done to prevent more injuries. My first session he cracked my back and I felt less pain then before, my second session he used acupuncture on my back where my pain was and it went away after. Third session he showed me exercises that I can do at home to help my back from getting hurt again. Thank you Dr. Richar! I will definitely be going back to see you!

Fantastic experience: My therapist was Robyn. She is skilful and best at her job. I felt relieved with her massage techniques something just as I wished for. She loves to share her knowledge and suggested me some yoga asanas that would help cure my problem. Best for the ones looking required enough pressure therapy and physical stress relief!! Fantastic experience: Dr. Christine Rad is the best. Very passionate and knowledgeable about her work. Out of the many chiropractors/physiotherapists I’ve seen, she’s been the absolute best by far. She spotted the source of my problem quickly and put me on a routine that helped me bode great results.

First time at a chiropractor...recommended by my trainer...and I had visions of bone-crunching...wrong! We have focused on muscles, ligaments and other soft tissues, exactly what I wanted. Fantastic experience: when I met Dr. Richar Raigoza I was suffering a terrible pain and unable to sleep at nights. In the first session, He completely listened to me while I was explaining my shoulder situation, taking notes and doing exact tests on my body. Then he started his professional way to heal my pain. After a week, I felt his treatment on my shoulder worked. I really admire his patience, skills and knowledge which helped me a lot to get healed properly. I really recommend Dr.Rick for everyone who does not have hope they can be healed.

Fantastic experience: After going to see a few different Chiropractors, acupuncturist and massage therapist throughout the past 5-10 years, I had almost given up hope and thought that my issues were something I would have to deal with forever. My friend referred me to Dr. Rad and I'm so happy they did. For the first time, I left with a better understanding of why I was experiencing these issues. She does a great job of explaining the treatments in detail, giving you home exercise and techniques to work on, and she really wants you to get better instead of wasting your time and money. 100% would recommend her service!

Fantastic experience: I had a serious chronic tennis elbow injury that lasted over a year. I signed up for therapy at a Physio clinic that worked on my arm three days a week for over two months without success. Then I had someone refer me to OHPR where I worked with a specialist (Richar) that only needed a few short sessions with me, and I can say after only 4 visits, my arm is back to feeling great again! He combined a variety of treatments to solve my pain, and rechecked me after treatment to make sure I was feeling better. Fantastic experience: I go to Dr. Christine Rad and she is AMAZING. So kind, thoughtful and considerate. I honestly do not have enough positive things to say about her. I went to a different physio for back pain 2x a week for about a month and a half and barely felt a difference. After two sessions with Dr. Rad, I felt much more limber, flexible and much less pain. She was awesome throughout all the sessions I had with her, taking time to explain the different things she was doing, including why and how. I had some concerns and she took the time to comfort and reassure me with my worries. She is excellent.

Fantastic experience: Dr Rich is my goto when I need relief, correction or just to keep myself nimble. In my field as an automotive technician I do a lot of twisting and lifting. I count on Dr Rich to keep me in flexible working order and he delivers. I was concerned when Dr. Keenan left the business but my confidence was fully restored with my first visit to this very knowledgeable and able practitioner. I highly recommend.
