Pickering Physiotherapy Clinic

Positive experience: I recently visited this clinic after it was taken over by Lifecare, and while the staff was very friendly and welcoming, my overall experience left me a bit surprised. The physiotherapist who conducted my assessment was professional and personable, which I appreciated. However, I was a bit taken aback by the short duration of my treatment. After a brief 15-minute assessment, I was given 15 minutes of electrode therapy, which I actually have at home. The session felt quite short, especially considering I paid $100 for what seemed like a minimal amount of treatment. I was told that my next appointment would include more hands-on therapy, which I’m hoping will provide the more comprehensive treatment I’m used to from physiotherapists. While the clinic itself seems nice, I would have appreciated a clearer understanding of what to expect from the session and whether this new approach was standard practice. I’m hopeful that the next visit will offer a more substantial treatment experience. I gave zero star to the value and 4 stars for the staff.

Negative experience: After experiencing a minor lower back injury, I made a 1 hour massage appointment for 4:30pm. I made the appointment early in the morning. I got a call around noon asking if I can come at 2:30pm because they had a last minute cancellation, which I could not make. They kept me at 4:30pm. Then around 3pm, they cancelled the appointment due to "unforeseen circumstances". Of course they charge their clients a fee for a last minute cancellation, but they can cancel on me last minute without any accountability. I will never visit this place again. Very unprofessional. Avoid!

Fantastic experience: Sneehal was my physiotherapist and she was wonderful. She made such a difference to me. She looked after me when I had back surgery and then when I torn the meniscus in my left knee and now that I've had hip replacement surgery. I have been in excellent hands with her care. I'm very grateful for the work she has done with me and for the staff at the clinic that have held my hand through some very painful sessions. Thank you Sneehal!

Fantastic experience: Snehal was amazing at helping me with my upper back pain during my pregnancy. She had so much knowledge and was always super patient and professional. I was told by my OB that this pain is normal due to posture but I’m glad I took the step to fix the issue instead of just dealing with the pain as “part of pregnancy”. Highly recommend!!!

Negative experience: I would rate the physiotherapist at this location 0 if I could. I have been going to this place since 2022. After having to run out my insurance, I continued to visit the clinic for neck, shoulder and back pain. i was told that in 6 weeks I will recover from the excruciating pain. six weeks come to an end and the pain is still bad. One day I complained that I have pain near my scar and literally had to beg the physiotherapist Snehal to check it out. She asked her associate to do so and and the scar tissue was tight as a hard rock. Then, whenever I complained of pain I was met with the gas lighting that I didn’t do my exercises or that this is a new complaint. Wth! I am paying you to fix the pain. instead of doing her job I was paying for out of my pocket, she gaslighted me and made me feel helpless. I wasted years, money, and energy. When I finally decided to get a second opinion, I am told that I have a rotator cuff tear that’s causing the pain and could have easily been detected by any physiotherapist. After two sessions, I feel relief when treated at another clinic. Please don’t be fooled by the pseudo they put on by talking and laughing with you at this location. They are just taking advantage of you. They are ripped me off.

Fantastic experience: This physiotherapy & chiropractic clinic is staffed with very dedicated & capable professionals & administrative staff who focus & deliver on successful patient treatment. I was extremely impressed with my recent treatment by physiotherapist Yancy Pirundhapan & Dr. Kwong, DC in providing relief from my rotator cuff injury through a combination of Yancy's physiotherapy exercises & ultrasound treatments to my first time acupuncture sessions with Dr. Kwong. Administrative staff & physiotherapy support staff were also very helpful & supportive. Thanks to all staff!

Fantastic experience: The therapist and staff were great! The therapy helped very much, after less than 2 weeks my knee injury is 70% better. The clinic has great vibes, everyone is friendly, the therapist with me was extremely observant and therefore, able to comment/offer suggestions for optimal improvement. My RMT did an amazing job, she understood what was required and hit the nail on the head with working on my kinks and knots. Fantastic experience: I have been attending this institute for physio treatment for pain on my leg and groin. From the front desk staff to the therapist and assistants everyone is very kind and polite. I went in limping really badly and I'm so much better now. The physiotherapist Snehal is amazing! She took notes about my pain and applied the right treatment and exercises that has alleviated the intense pain that I went in with. My physio benefits has now been used up but snehal provided me with exercises to do to continue with my healing process. I am walking so much better now thanks to the treatment I received.

Negative experience: Visited for acute hip pain. Physiotherapist spent 25 minutes during the initial assessment applying pressure to an abdominal scar I received from a surgery 25 years ago, trying to explain that it was the root cause of my hip injury. I was hoping to come out of the initial assessment with some sort of basic plan to solve my issue, anticipating that I may have to schedule a few follow up appointments over the next couple of months. Therapist's only plan was that I come in 3x per week ($900/month) and then tried to up-sell me on a massage. Complete waste of time and money.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been frequenting this centre for numerous months for a knee issue which left me limping and unstable. Thanks to the very knowledgeable staff (Joseph, Raj & Michael) I am much more balanced and pain free. The entire staff was very welcoming from the get go and are always on top of everything. Negative experience: So you text me and email me multiple times about my appointment to a point to close to be annoying and warn me about providing 24 hours notice to cancel or be billed 50.00 for cancelling. Yet you cancel 7 hours before my appointment. Guess my time isn't valuable what a joke. So I mentioned I get $ 50.0 hours off my next appointment. You'll need to talk to management here, as I can't do that. Wow see ya!

Fantastic experience: This clinic is simply amazing! I've been getting physio and accu treatments twice a week for about 6 weeks. I've seen major improvement in both my injured elbows and am confident that I will get 100% function back. The staff in this clinic, including the front-desk staff (s/o to Emily), the PT assistants (Mike), the PT's (Joanna and Raj), and also Dr. Kwong, they are ALL super friendly, kind, compassionate, caring and committed to my recovery. I was a patient at another clinic for over a month, and hands-down, the treatment and service at Pickering Physiotherapy is definitely top notch! Fantastic experience: I slipped my disc and was unable to walk but after my first appointment with Mr. Raju Gupta (physiotherapy) I got my life back. He was very patient and kind. Suggesting Dr. Allan's acupunture as well, the fear of needles were just in head but it increased my healing rate. Overall my experience with them were highly satisfying.

Then I was introduced to one of the massage therapists (Tiffany) who intuitively knew where to apply pressure points beyond what I identified as my problem area which allowed me to sleep soundly for the first time in months. Fantastic experience: I was in such terrible pain for last10 weeks which I was unable to even sit down. The pain was caused by 2 slipped disks which one was pinching a nerve. Made an appointment with Pickering Physiotherapy Institute and was introduced to Joseph who was looking after me. After 3 visit I was still in a lot of pain but was not given up on, in fact Joseph even recommended I go back to my doctor to get more imaging done on my back since he felt he was not helping me. INSTANT TRUST from that point on with him. Last night Joseph tried a different treatment and stretching then normal, Can't explain the difference I felt this morning, getting out bed was easy, in past was so much pain, today I feel like a different person. Negative experience: They said air filters were added to satisfy the needs for this pandemic but I am pretty sure the air purifier the owner purchased is from Walmart and not something you would think is acceptable at a medical facility. I have seen hand sanitizer being diluted by the manager. Absolutely disgusting and I would not suggest this place even if it was free. Better luck at any of the other places just up the street.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to the Pickering Physiotherapy Clinic in Pickering for over 5 years. I suffer from chronic arthritis in my neck, shoulders, lower back, both knees and I have Sciatica and cervical spondylosis. My arthritic problems date back over 40 years and I have been treated in various physiotherapy clinics by numerous professionals. My experience with Pickering Physio has been a weekly thing which has been dictated by what pain is bothering me the most. To name each individual in Pickering Physio and miss one name would be disastrous. From the receptionists, the office manager, the physiotherapists, the PTA's, the chiropractor, the massage therapist, they have all treated me with the utmost professional, friendly, and sincere care to help me through my problems. Their efforts have helped me to maintain a nearly normal day to day life style.I can't thank them enough for their dedication to their profession and their attitude in caring for the patients that come there for help. Negative experience: Management is terrible. They are lucky to have the team they have but unfortunately that isn't enough for me to want to continue to come here for treatment. Shelly is fake any time she works front desk but I have seen her speak to staff and it's disgusting.

I’ve been going to him for 2 years now and I feel like a new person every single time I leave. Finding a good chiropractor is so hard so take it from me, sign up with Dr. Kwong.

Fantastic experience: I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Kwong and the treatment I received. I went with extreme shoulder pain due to moving and could not lift my right arm. After one treatment I saw improvement and by the second treatment I was able to raise my arm without any difficulty. Thank you for the excellent treatment both by Dr. Kwong and the front desk staff who were very accommodating and flexible when I needed to adjust my appointment time.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience at Pickering Physiotherapy. I went to the Pickering Physiotherapy about 2 years ago for Tennis elbow and they were so attentive, professional and personable. So, when I was getting a pain in my foot I went right back to Pickering Physiotherapy because they did such a great job previously and healing my tennis elbow. This time I have Achilles Tendonitis, and believe me from the time I started visiting them a few months ago to now there has been great improvement. From the receptionist who checks your temperature and chats with you while you wait, to my physiotherapist, Raj or Joseph they are professional and I would recommend them. I can’t forget the Physiotherapy assistants, without them and their take home exercises I don’t know what I would do. I highly recommend Pickering Physiotherapy.

Unfortunately this year I suffered another injury and despite moving further away from the clinic, I still returned to the clinic and happy that I did. Fantastic experience: A great place to get routine treatment that you can depend on! I’ve had chronic back pain for over a decade now, which became further complicated by a car accident 3 years ago. Herniated disks & torn muscles were no match for this team of experienced physiotherapists. They identified my trouble areas with precision and quickly went to work on improving my mobility. Thanks to this team of skilled therapists I can confidently lead an active life knowing they’ll always be there to help give me the rehabilitation I need, when I need it. I always look forward to my next appointment because it’s like visiting friends! From registration, treatment, insurance billing, to follow-up appointments, these folks have made subsequent visits seamless and stress free! All I have to do is show up and focus on my health.

Fantastic experience: Amazing care from all, amazing physiotherapist Joseph Tong is patient and methodical in assessing and treatment, not a one size fits all approach, Joseph treats and assess my injury at every visit ,my progress has been amazing despite how complex it is , if Joseph is no longer there I will move to his new clinic. I'm not concerned that Joseph works at the hospital and the clinic .
