Fantastic experience: I walked in hardly being able to move my head/neck at all and Jason Barbosa had me almost at full range of motion after 45 mins. Very kind, professional and personable. He was motivational and supportive through the process which was painful at times and was able to answer all my questions and gave extra suggestions and advice. Would recommend all day everyday. 10/10

Positive experience: Good experience. Quiet environment no ambience music makes it a little too quiet. My normal message therapist was on vacation so came here instead. Had I seen the review under before going I would have probably have skipped out. I had to call on the day of my apt at my normal place and they wished me good health and thanked me for canceling and not bringing in the virus into their workplace and re-assured me without me even asking that I would not be charged as it health related reasons. I feel like the last review would make people go in sick vs being charged. Policies are policies but don't complain if someone comes in sick because they do not want to be charged.

Negative experience: Edited to address response from owner: I call BS on your response as they're all lies. 1. You claim you were unable to fill the slot. However, I spoke with the staff member who answered my call. I clearly stated that, if you were going to charge me the $50, I would keep the appointment, as there was still half an hour left before the scheduled time. I was told, "Oh no, the spot has already been filled. There are not more slots available today." 2. I understand the cancellation policy. However, in good faith and to avoid spreading my germs, I requested the appointment be cancelled and that I would reschedule. Your email mentioned that “it would be up to Magdalena if that charge is applied.” In her pursuit of the $50, Magdalena has lost future business from me and caused her colleague to miss out on earnings from two future sessions that I have now cancelled. 3. There was no threat or harassment during my call. I simply stated that I could have shown up sick, sneezing and coughing, and passed on my germs, but I didn’t. I had the decency to inform Magdalena that I couldn’t, in good faith, do that to her. That’s why I cancelled and offered to reschedule. I even apologized to the staff member who took my call, explaining that my frustration was not with her but that it was with Magdalena, who made the short-sighted decision to charge me the fee. Lastly, I want to point out that I had another appointment today that I had to cancel, yet I was not charged a cancellation fee. Guess who still has my business? *************** Original post: I am very disappointed with how I was treated. I had booked a massage appointment with Magdalena Totehova, but on the day of the appointment, I woke up feeling sick with the flu. I immediately contacted Pure Massage & Holistic Therapies Kanata to let them know I was unwell and to request the appointment be cancelled and I would reschedule, as I didn’t want to risk getting Magdalena sick. Their email response was: "I have cancelled your appointment for 2pm today. Generally we require 24 hours notice for a cancellation or a $50 fee may apply to the cancelled appointment. It will be up to Magdalena if that charge is applied." The next thing I know, I received an email with a receipt for the $50 charge. I understand that a last-minute cancellation results in a loss of revenue, but I was considerate enough to inform them of my illness and express my desire to reschedule so I wouldn't pass on the flu. When I called back to ask for the charge to be waived, explaining that my reason for cancelling was out of consideration for Magdalena's health, I was met with no empathy. Had I known that Magdalena wouldn't have the decency to say, "It's okay, I won’t charge you. Thank you for being considerate and not passing the flu on to me," I would have just shown up for the appointment, regardless of her health. This experience has left me questioning how "holistic" this business truly is, despite their name. They have lost my business and I definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone. I did not even want to give one star, except that I could not post this review without give a star.

Positive experience: Here’s a draft for your Google review: I visited Pure Massage recently and had a good experience overall. The staff was nice and professional, and I left feeling relaxed, which was exactly what I needed. However, the ambiance could be improved. The room wasn’t very fancy, and there was no music or calming scents to enhance the experience. If you’re looking for a straightforward massage without the extras, this is a good place to try.

I have hooded eyes, and for the first time i can see my eye lids, lots of draining was done...again thank you!

Fantastic experience: I came here for my first massage ever, I had such a great experience. The building is very clean and welcoming. I was treated by Peng who was very friendly and professional. I was made comfortable throughout the treatment and felt like a human again after. 10/10 recommend coming here. Peng also educated me about my back anatomy, why I was experiencing pain and what would help it from my own end. It was all in all such a great session. Negative experience: I have been to PURE twice. I just moved to Kanata and was happy to find a place I could walk to. I have severe neck and shoulder pain and formerly received great service from Peng and Minh. Sadly, I will not be returning. Today, I had needed a massage due to sever pain and booked a RMT less than 24 hours prior. Unfortunately, I begrudgingly had to cancel this morning because I am a caregiver for my mother who has Alzheimers, and she was having a terrible episode. So, even though I very much wanted/needed to honour my appointment, I could not possibly leave my mother. I understand there are policies, and I understand that everyone needs to work and get paid. I was honestly hoping/needing to reschedule, not fully cancel. But the RMT I booked with offered ZERO compromise or empathy for my situation. She insisted I give her my credit card info promptly over the phone to pay half of my appointment ($59 - No show fee). Which I unwillingly did. It, literally, was an insult to injury. I have never, in all of my years receiving massage therapy, experienced such apathy and disregard. I am truly disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Had a 60 minute cupping session with Peng. The people are respectful and great. The place was clean and easy to find. Peng educates you throughout the process which helps you understand more about maintaining the strength you gain back there. This was my first massage therapy session ever and I've gotta say the bar is set pretty high now! Definitely going to go back for further progress!

Fantastic experience: I have gone here for a handful of therapeutic massages now, and I've got to say that this place is great. The progress to my treatment has been profound thanks to the efforts of Peng Tan, he is truly exceptional. He will work with you to thoroughly diagnose what areas need what kind of attention, and you will see real progress in your welfare as you return for multiple sessions. He is rather knowledgeable and is happy to answer your questions and explain the method behind his treatments. If you're ready to put in the work, and learn how to live better, go see this guy.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Peng at Pure Massage enough. He is a passionate, competent and caring professional. I have been seeing him for a short period of time and he has already address my initial physical complaints, explained in detail its sources and showed me how to prevent them from coming back. I am planning to continue working with Peng in the coming months and years.

Peng takes the time to explain and educate through the entire massage while also maintaining a calm and relaxing environment. Negative experience: I had my first massage with Keri, and it wasn’t the best of experience. No greeting or asking any questions to get to know my preference for my first prenatal massage here. The massage pillow (that you lay on) wasn’t very comfy either. Unfortunately won’t return.

Fantastic experience: I love PURE on Colchester. Peng Tan is fantastic. I’ve had Swedish massages, Deep Tissue and recently Cupping. Peng is very personable, explains the process in detail and educates you and continually checks on you that you are comfortable and are getting what you want and need from the massage. I introduced my son, who is on the Autism Spectrum, for stress and anxiety, and wasn’t sure whether he would enjoy massage as it’s so sensory. But he loves it. Peng made him feel so calm and he comes out totally relaxed. PURE also offers direct billing, is clean and safe offering clients the option to wear masks and you can request staff to wear them too. The rooms are comfortable, calming and warm. I highly recommend PURE!!

Negative experience: The appt started off 20min with no apology. She used the same movements over and over, adjusted the table height 7 times. The oil was not heated. She kept leaving the table and when she came back in a different location with quick hard movements, it was startling. When asked if she could use more pressure she responded with ‘I’ll try’ I will not be going g back.

Fantastic experience: Booking through PURE massage system is incredibly easy and time-saving. I started getting massages with Rebecca Westwell in Smiths Falls (PURE Massage operates out of Blue Door Spa). She is an amazing RMT and I highly recommend her for anyone needing to work on muscle and tension issues. She has a magic touch and an incredible asset to have in Smiths Falls.

Fantastic experience: I just got my first ever indian scalp massage here and it was amazing. It helped with neck and jaw pain I had been having. I highly recommend massage at PURE and if you want something a little extra the indian scalp massage is a must!

Fantastic experience: Recently moved to Kanata and was in desperate need of a deep tissue massage to help alleviate some pain in my forearms, shoulders, back and neck. I have tennis/golfer’s elbow (plus I lug around a 2 year old often) so I wanted to get some relief. The reviews for Pure were very encouraging so I booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage with Rebecca. Absolutely AMAZING! I’ve never had such a slow but deep massage that hit all the right/tight spots. After the massage I felt amazing but thought that euphoric feeling would wear off in a few hours…but it hasn’t. I still feel very limber and loose. Thank you again Rebecca for being so professional and tailoring the massage to help my pain points. Looking forward to my next massage! Sidenote: The music playing was a really chill collection of indie acoustic songs. I loved it…but sadly, the musical choices were not made by Rebecca, but rather management…lol

Fantastic experience: Amandeep Chahal - The best therapist for back pain I was suffering from Back ache since long time and Amandeep diagnosed my cause of pain and she gave me the exact treatment I was expecting. I've been thrice to the clinic and my pain is almost gone. She also suggested me some tips for my seating posture which helped me overcome the backpain. I would definitely suggest booking an appointment with Amandeep if you have a long term back aches.

Fantastic experience: Rebecca was absolutely amazing! At the time of my visit I was 33 weeks pregnant, and came in with all the regular back pain that comes with it. I went from barely being able to bend over to actually being able to get in and out of my car with ease (a feat for those of you familiar). I was given a gift certificate at Christmas by a close friend, who is also a regular client of Rebecca's but I will be returning on my own accord before the end of my pregnancy and beyond.
