Fantastic experience: Received a deep tissue massage from Kathrina, and it was absolutely amazing. Very good pressure and also checking in with me to make sure it was to my liking. She employed stretching, body manipulation and heat. The areas I wanted addressed were worked on in ways I didn’t even know I needed! Thank you!

Negative experience: Had a really poor massage experience here. I got charged for 60 minutes but my massage was barely 45 minutes (I arrived 15 minutes early for my appt). The therapist continually told me my breathing was too shallow to the point where I was very uncomfortable trying to follow her instruction on how I should be breathing. She got frustrated with me because I wasn’t “relaxing enough” for her to properly release the knots. At one point she told me “I needed to stop thinking the world was attacking me” because my back muscles weren’t relaxing the way she wanted them to?? All of this came with a tone of frustration which made the whole appointment incredibly uncomfortable. I’m very active and have always had a tight back and shoulders (it’s why I go for massages) & I can’t say I’ve ever experienced anything like that. I just moved close by and was hoping this could be my regular spot but sadly won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for years and have seen most of the massage therapists. Overall everyone is really good (staff at front have always been kind and helpful too). I will never stop raving about Melanie and Camille though. Lovely, kind girls who are masters of their craft. You’d have to pay me to go to another clinic at this point. I’ve been to the location in Willow Park and I much prefer Marda.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing first time teeth whitening experience with Tracy D. She made many decades of staining disappear; of course she did explain that the teeth will oxidize and the yellow dentin will show through again a little bit. It is now two months later, and there is a bit of the yellow showing through, but of course the overall whitening effect is fantastic. So happy with my smile, especially with my new crowns made to match Tracy's whitening magic. She is highly experienced and explained the technical process. I think it has to do with the fact that she uses strong pressure without causing pain and she covers a lot of area repeatedly in a way that makes me feel like she just does more work than any other massage therapist I’ve experienced in the same amount of time, so my muscles feel more relaxed because they’ve been worked more

Negative experience: Don’t get IV treatment - poorly trained and rude staff. There are so many better options in the area. I’ve been a customer for 7 years and between me and my husband we probably spend at least $400 a year here, I accidentally booked the wrong location, showed up at Mardaloop (booked willow by mistake) and the owner said she was going to charge me. I said f- that, as it was an honest mistake and I’ve been a customer for years. It was a small charge but I refuse to support businesses that don’t appreciate long term customers. I know I was in the wrong but was $30 really worth losing $4000 a year considering I was a regular? When I told my new Naturalpath about the experience she said she wasn’t surprised and essence has a bad rap in the Naturalpath community. Good to know and I guess everything happens for a reason!

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr Mackenzie Kranics to help with my Hashimoto’s and she has been amazing!! She is so thorough and such a wealth of knowledge. I always come in with a list of questions and supplements to run by her and she is so helpful with identifying what will work best for me and why they can help each individual symptom. She has supported my healing journey and I feel so much better thanks to all of her guidance. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done for me and I look forward to our regular visits at the clinic. Also the clinic itself is such a beautiful and peaceful space. I am so grateful that I found Essence Wellness and I would recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Visited Dr Trudy for help with heartburn and allergies. She was amazing and a wealth of knowledge. She Asked lots of questions and I came out equipped with a plan focused on improvements and lots of information in order to move towards feeling better. It’s a No-pressure environment tailored to my needs rather than a blanket approach. I’m impressed and will be returning for follow up acupuncture to continue the process. Reasonably priced, and also covered largely by my insurance which is a bonus.

Negative experience: I went there a few years ago. Spent hundred of dollars on IV and other therapy. I asked front desk if they honor repeat-loyal customers. She was appauled and rude. As if I was asking for a free ride. I was a good customer I got upset. I was asked to leave because the secretary was upset?!. Really bad business. Very frustrating and odd.

Fantastic experience: Shayleen has been doing Reiki on me for a few years now and every time she takes me to a deeper level of myself. I really hold stress in my body and she helps get the tension out, clearing my mind and body of clutter, bringing in compassion, release and creativity. I am grateful for her talent. She is a key component to my wellness.

Fantastic experience: Love Essence! My family and I (The Roses) go here all the time for massages. Each of their 3 locations are equally as great. They have awesome availability and can usually get you in next day. Julia and Vicki are wonderful masseuses but everyone is really skilled! Reception is always nice and direct billing works every time!

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of a Reiki session with Shayleen. She was very knowledgeable and explained her process to me thoroughly. Her energy and presence was warm and comforting. She was very intuitive and helped me work though some emotions present in my body. For people looking for a more spiritual healing experience, and more inner balance, I would highly recommend seeing Shayleen and allowing her wisdom to guide you.

Negative experience: I have been the loyalty customer for this clinic for more than 7years. Today I went to have IV therapy treatment with Dr Sharma. She was friendly but she didn’t have the right skill to poke the needles to the right spot. My left arm got super purple and a coin size of burst. When I got to the clinic to complain about the issue, but they just told me that was very normal issue would happened. Seriously? That’s all they told me, but no sincere apologies. I felt very disappointed on their professionalism. I have never got this bad burst from needles, not even when I had my neck surgery or any blood works. Be careful if you want to have the IV therapy here, especially during COVID.

Negative experience: DO NOT book pre natal massage at this clinic. Pre natal massage services are not delivered as advertised. Clinic does not have equipment shown on website. Poor communication resulted in front desk staff not knowledgeable re: pre natal bolster or quality of service that was expected. Upon follow up, clinic director offered no resolution and deferred accountability to therapist, who was doing her best with what she had. I responded to director's request with follow up questions and have heard nothing since initial email that was laced with excuses. There were no 'circumstances' as stated in attached screen shot other than clear lack of communication and quality of service. Expected better considering current environment and working with vulnerable clientele.

Fantastic experience: I love this spot! I’ve been for acupuncture and massage here. I’ve seen a lot of massage therapists and must say that Charlotte and Melanie are great. The rooms are comfortable, have nice linen, and heated beds. They are always on time and you always get the full time that you paid for whereas I’ve noticed this is not the practice in some clinics. They direct bill and have helped me in dealing with a MVA claim. Easy, free underground parking. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Unacceptable service! While booking the prenatal massage receptionist didn't mentioned that my insurance company won't cover their clinic. Only find out when I show up for massage. In addition to that, therapist not specialized in prenatal massage. And I specifically asked for it, and over the phone they said that therapist who will be working with me IS. PLUS when I entered the room she didn't have prenatal bolster just a pillow. And I made sure I booked massage only if they provide that for me. I left disappointed. I'll never be back here again.

Fantastic experience: This is my go to place for all wellness services. I have been going here for about 3 years and have never been disappointed with any service I have received. Their online booking is super convenient and never has any errors. I have seen several massage staff and they have all been incredible. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a new wellness centre to check out.

They are both very knowledgeable in the services that they offer and was able to answers all my concerns. They are both very professional, friendly, caring and passionate about their work. Also, if you are looking for a deep tissue massage, I do recommend Rima. She is excellent.

Fantastic experience: Due to the pandemic I haven't had a massage since January. My regular masseuse seems to have gone MIA and so I figure I'd try another facility. I chose Essence Wellness and was that ever a great choice. I felt safe, the staff were very professional and polite, they do direct billing, you can do the forms from home and email it to them, parking was not an issue, and to top it off I had an AMAZING massage done by Vicky!! I am definitely coming back and booking her again. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience on my first visit.

Negative experience: I felt fatigued and got the IV therapy to feel better, but it makes me feel worse. I felt terrible pain while the liquid was injecting into my vain. The doctor said I am a rare case and it happened because my vein is not strong enough. If she is true how come they don't have any ways to test it before treatment. I had to pay $145 for nothing. I could not tolerate the pain in my arm and doctor put all blame in my vein and said I had to pay because she spends her time for me. I am totally unsatisfied with the service that I pay but not get the full benefit out of it. The doctor was nice, she did her best but it did not work for me and I think as a doctor they should consider the case like me if for any reason they can not tolerate the treatment and they should find out somehow before starting a session and charge customers.

She is so well in tune with her instinct that I swear I walk in there, before I even tell her what I want to work on that day, she already knows!!!!! Fantastic experience: Essence Wellness in Marda Loop is by far the best Naturopath clinic I have been to. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming - If you're a first time client, they're very diligent on explaining things, answering questions or concerns you may have. I feel completely at ease and in great hands every time I am there. The decor and ambiance of the clinic itself adds to a wonderful experience and visit. The doctors are so knowledgeable and personable, and one of the main reasons I keep coming back. I recommend this clinic to most of my friends and family looking for a wellness clinic.

Fantastic experience: I first went to Essence because I had a busy week coming up, and I wasn't feeling that great and was intrigued by the B12 shot and thought I'd give it a shot (pun intended). Now I don't know if it was a placebo effect, but I starting to feel better and better and truly felt like it helped me fight off whatever I was getting sick with. Dr. Flock was so nice, explained everything in detail to me and we decided on both a B12 and Adrenal shot. I went again last week for both the B12 and Adrenal shots. Definitely something my body seems to be enjoying, haha. I'll be incorporating this into my regime ever couple weeks. I also appreciated how she wasn't pushy to purchase expensive supplements like I've experienced at other Naturopath offices in the past. Also to add to my positive experience, the office was clean, beautiful and very relaxing, as well as having very friendly staff. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new clinic.

Negative experience: Staffs are friendly and helpful. I went for the 60 min massage. The massage didn’t reach my expectations. I had been going to too many different kinda of massages and spa rooms in Calgary. Unfortunately the room was cold, the massage therapist wasn’t experienced enough and couldn’t finished back and front of my body in 60 min. Basically it was like a jock. The pressure wasn’t enough, she couldn’t get in to the deep tissues and open knots. And after I done my massage no one didn’t wait outside to offering me a glass of water and lead me to go to pay. I was walking around for few minutes to figure it out how to getting out of there.

Not only was the staff friendly and accommodating, but the skill and knowledge they have really makes the experience memorable. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Angela for Massage. I have been having serious issues with my shoulder and we thought originally it might be frozen shoulder and of course Angela did rec that I see a doctor. However, she did a massage and customized it to my shoulder and needs. After two sessions of massage and cupping my shoulder has improved 80%. She is so professional and I can't recommend her enough!
