Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a Nutritionist to get you on track, or back on track, with your eating and general overall sense of well-being, I highly recommend Charlene. After meeting to discuss where I was and where I wanted to be, Charlene came up with an amazing, realistic plan on how I could move forward and obtain my goals. She was able to put this together, knowing my love/hate relationship with food, and me being a very picky eater. We met, either by phone or in person regularly to check in, and discuss how things were going. I became a fan of cooking (unheard of!) and would send her photos of all my meals! I actually started to enjoy cooking and trying foods that I never thought I would like. In addition to my meal plans, complete with recipes and a shopping list, my plan also included supplements to assist my body. I also started journaling, which helped me understand why I did not have a healthy relationship with food. I managed to be rid of my constant craving for sugar and feel a lot healthier. If you are in a place where you recognize you need changes in your nutrition, eating habits, and need support and motivation, I highly recommend Charlene. You will NOT be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: I hit a wall with weight loss because I have PCOS and ADHD. Uncontrollable carb cravings and insulin sensitivity. 15 minute conversation with the staff and a few products tailored to my issues later, cravings are gone and I feel hopeful again. They're very knowledgeable and very kind. Wouldn't recommend any place else.

Not only does the Optimize store (formerly Fuel) stock a wide range of health products (protein powder, vitamins, oregano oil, Omega's and more) but they also provide a wealth of knowledge with respect to sports/athletic performance and optimizing general health. I no longer live in Nanaimo but Optimize ships products around Canada, so no matter where I'm living, I know I have access to quality products. Fantastic experience: I called the store today at 5:50 to see if they had a product I was looking for that I desperately needed tonight not realizing they close at 6. I was about 25 mins away there was no way I was going to get there in time they offered to stay opened until I got there. I was in shock at how friendly and helpful the staff was even after they were suppose to be closed. I believe the guy who helped me was named Nick. Not only did they stay open just for me, they took the time to still go through all my questions (and trust me I had a lot) and to help me find what I was looking for. You have earned a lifelong customer today!

Fantastic experience: I have always had a great experience when I go to Optimize, and I have been a regular customer there for years. I have recently been especially impressed with Nic. He is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products. He is a real asset to the store!!!

Negative experience: I went in with a girlfriend of mine and then owner was immediately awful. She asked if they had a certain brand and he quickly said absolutely not I don't carry that garbage. Instead of being professional and helping her find a similar product that he recommends without such a negative attitude. He jumped down her throat. I was taken back and won't ever recommend or become a new customer. Very disappointing!

Negative experience: Rude customer service. When i asked about a particular brand that i did not see, Instead of offering recommendations the worker only said no i would never bring that garbage in. Not a way to talk to a potential customer. Will never be back.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had insomnia for 7 years and Nicholas at Optimize Nutrition recommended a product called Adrenal Chill by CanPrev. This stuff has been amazing. I highly recommend anyone with sleep issues give this a try. Thank you Nicholas!

Fantastic experience: Just came back from another trip to the best nutrition store in Nanaimo. Staff are incredibly helpful and supportive. They always have exactly what I need and answer my questions with knowledge and experience. I’m a senior and they treat me with the same interest for my well-being that they do younger people. And let me tell you that is not always the case.

Fantastic experience: I walked in for some creatine monohydrate, they didn’t have any but the manager recommended creatine HCl so I ended up purchasing that and I was talking about how awesome the store was. After a little bit of talking with the manager I was talking about how awesome the staff is there and how much better they are in comparison to some of the other bigger supplement stores all in all the guys who work there a pretty awesome dude and I ended up walking out with a free shirt and taking some photos with them . I’ve been going to optimize nutrition now for probably five years and I’ve tried to go to other places but the customer service is nowhere near as good as optimize as well as Selection, whenever I go there they always have what I need and if they don’t they can always recommend something that is either better or second-best. Thank you guys so much one love!!
