Negative experience: I had a tumour removed from my heart in 2020. I paid the $400 to join the Refit Cardiac rehab program, in October 2020, I went to one class then had to go online, which I couldn’t do with three kids at home. They were shut down for a few months then when they reopened you could go if you wore a mask during exercise. My lung had collapsed during sx so I couldn’t tolerate it. A few more months go by and I feel like I could probably tolerate the mask while exercising. I go in and the receptionist tells me I “had my chance” to go and the time is up for me to attend the cardiac rehab program. I explained the situation and instead of making an appointment for me to talk to the nurse in charge of the program she just insists that there is no way and it’s too late. I asked for my money back and she said they don’t do refunds! The whole time being so rude and condescending and when one of the members comes by she like smiles at them and kind of rolls her eyes like I am some kind of nuisance. I was so frustrated that I actually yelled that I guess I picked a bad time to have a heart tumour because I couldn’t get rehab! I had to take a leave from work and hire a trainer to get some help to get my strength back a year after my surgery. I know that there aren’t many options out there for cardiac rehab so you kinda have to go to Refit. I just wanted to tell my story. BECAUSE of refit my rehabilitation took much longer, cost me more and I dipped into a depression after that incident. I was fragile and weak and they did not help me. Instead they chose to take my money and push me aside.

Negative experience: I used to hold the Reh-fit Centre in high regard until they started getting too assertive, dare I say sneaky, with their membership renewal policy. Be CAREFUL when you sign up that you don’t accidentally check the box for automatic renewal. And when it comes time to renew they only send notices via email. If you don’t see the email or if for some reason you didn’t get it, it doesn’t matter because the renewal amount which is close to $1000 will be slapped on your credit card. And if you call once you’ve noticed this they will keep back one month’s fee rather than credit you the full amount. For the kind of money we’re talking about ($902.81 to be exact) they should be sending notices via Canada Post ! This is not the type of undertakings I would expect to see from the Reh-fit center. Not impressed. Note: interestingly enough a review from 2 years ago ( see further down Brian Peake’s review ) had the exact same thing happen to him and he’s equally ticked off about it as well. So obviously Rehfit doesn’t care about member complaints.

Fantastic experience: Extremely clean environment and very friendly people. The only suggestion from my side to increase comfort is to increase the number and variety of your workout equipment a little bit to avoid long waits for certain ones.

Fantastic experience: This is such a wonderful space to workout. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Theres no one doing selfies or recording themselves. People are visiting and telling stories, or doing their solo workout. People are friendly. There’s something and spaces for everyone at every level. Try it out. Take a look and ask questions.

Fantastic experience: Was a member of reh fit for over 10 yrs when I lived in Wpg. I moved away 2 yrs ago, and reh fit is definitely a major part of the city that I miss the most. Felt at home there. Very clean, lots of space, great staff and made great friends.

Fantastic experience: The staff at this gym are beyond helpful and really go the extra mile! My dad has been coming here for approximately 3 months after he had a stroke that paralyzed his left side. He loves it and continues to move forward positively! Thank you to Marcie + all the staff that make him smile each day!

Negative experience: So I was referred to REH-FIT for the Exercise is Medicine program by my physiotherapist. I had recently gained some weight and lost motivations after a couple devastating miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy. I was ready to come back to the gym but I knew I need some guidance on what to do and maybe some checking in since I also have a physical disability. Well the program cost +$100, you can only use the gym after 1pm until close. Its a one time shot of 8 weeks. I kept asking the first day where do I check in, where do I get guidance. I got introduced to someone on in the gym I never saw again. The least they could done is given me some kind of schedule of exercises per week, I did not even get that. No guidance at all. When I asked about the program on other trips there no one knew I enrolled or had any information on the program at all or what I should be doing. So I got frustrated. I needed help and was not getting it here. Then I got told there's a class during daytime hours on the weekdays. As busy full time working mom I can't just be there during daytime hours to do classes. They also close early during the summer so that limits me even more. They really cater to the retired community, and thats fine but I did not fit in at all. The stares I was getting (I limp) and I felt very judged for being plus size and in the gym by the cliental there. Its horrible. Honestly if your medical professional is wanting to enroll your in patient Exercise is Medicine, do NOT do it with REH-FIT. Refer them somewhere else that cares. Patients take the $100 and sign up for a fitness class. You'll thank me. Honestly I regret not getting a planet fitness membership, at least I could have gone in the morning before work, since I was figuring it all on my own anyways. Would have cost me less then this wasted time. The one star is because the facility is clean and spacious and the equipment is nice.

Fantastic experience: Incredible facility with state of the art equipment, skilled and friendly staff along with lots of classes to choose from. The entire facility is well taken care of and they also host additional educational events geared towards improving your health. Top notch!

Negative experience: Horrible experience at the Reh-Fit Center. Went in today (April 11, 2023) to play pickleball with three others and they were not able to accommodate us because of an unscheduled pickleball clinic (there appeared to be ample space but the instructor said we would apparently be too loud). We went in during the allotted open court time and there was no mention of a pickleball clinic taking place today on the Reh-Fit website. The Reh-Fit needs to put in a lot more effort to ensure their clientele are aware of certain restrictions at the facility. Was looking forward to playing and we went home unable to. Probably will look for somewhere else in the city that actually lets their clients come in and use the facilities!

Positive experience: Time to drop the mask mandate. Stay home if you're sick and where a mask if you WANT to. Masks required except when exercising -how ridiculous. I would change gyms but I'm locked in for 5 more months. Come on Rehfit, time to think about ALL your members, not just the high risk or elderly.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Does not have a vast variety like GoodLife or Shapes, however, does have all the basics and more common machines you would find smaller chained or private gyms. Fantastic running track and activities going on to liven up the place. Has a beautiful changing area as well as sauna and steam room in the change room. Excellent customer service, clean facility, with a healthy little cafeteria. Tons of parking. Has stairs and elevators for those who need. Everyone is friendly!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to the gym all my life and this is one of the best I’ve attended. Great free weights area and machines, plus lots of classes, badminton, pickleball, running track etc., all included in your membership. Nice restaurant on the upper level offering healthy treats and great cappuccinos.

Negative experience: Great facility and equipment when I was using it. I paid for a years membership in the summer of 2020. With the pandemic and restrictions, my membership was on hold/off hold and just recently my total yearly membership had expired. I haven't used the facilities at in about 9 months. I was automatically renewed and charged on my credit card for almost $900. I was not notified and only found out once i got my credit card statement. I called and explained. They said it would be no problem and later, I saw a refund on my credit card however, it is less than I had initially been charged - about one month of membership less. I don't appreciate being charged without my consent or knowledge (probably in the fine print somewhere or something), or being shorted a month's worth of money for something that I had nothing to do with. Unfortunately this has really affected my opinion of this place. I would have previously recommended it to anyone but now, I'm not sure. Edit** after speaking with them I was told that since I unsubscribed from the spam emails that I would no longer get the important emails either (ie about renewal). After being lectured by Susan she finally said they would issue me a full refund (still waiting). She has very little professionalism and was very slow at getting back. When she did she refused to answer my questions in writing and preferred to try and lecture me on the phone instead.

Negative experience: Sign up at your own risk!! There has been a serious decline in service at the Rehfit. Be warned that the beautiful facility and the glossy brochures are covering a staff that is demoralized and say -“They never tell us anything”. Programs like Physio are gone, and the sauna and steam room are always broken or locked. Attempts to ask questions or to make requests for service are ignored by senior management or dismissed. It took weeks to get back to me and I finally had to try to speak to someone at the board level, but they did not respond to me either. Once they have your $80 a month, no one seems willing to answer questions or hear concerns. I have been going to the city pool where the sauna is open and it costs $2 as an entry fee. Once you pay your money, it seems like no one can be bothered to talk to you. You could likely pay much less money for more respectful client service!

Fantastic experience: Just a GREAT place to go and workout and the staff here are just GREAT also as they bend over backwards to help you at any time of their shift so just register join and enjoy your time and please keep smiling

Positive experience: This facility is one of the first certified medical fitness facilities in Canada. Membership is open to the public and specializes in cardio rehabilitation and seniors. The facility has a track, free weights and weight machines, ellipticals, rowing machines, high end treadmills, stair mills, TRX, and a QueenX. Complimentary fitness classes are included in the membership. Nutritional counseling , fitness assessments and one-on-one coaching are also available. Free parking.

Fantastic experience: I was referred here after my heart attack in October by the hospital. The staff are so amazing, and have been so helpful in my recovery. So many informative seminars, that have helped me understand what I went through, and great staff that have made me feel comfortable in the gym. What a fantastic, unique rehabilitation facility, and program. Thank you for all your help!

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the customer service. My wife and I recently moved and no longer lived near the Reh fit Center. When we went to cancel our membership they told me I had to do it in a year from now when the membership is renewed. Now I am paying 160 dollars a month for my wife and I for a membership I can’t use because it’s not worth it to travel to the reh fit Center after our move. Very disappointed with the facility, customer service, and I will never recommend the Reh fit Center moving forward. I really hope they change their policies instead of stealing from people.

Fantastic experience: Staff are helpful, facility is large and has a lot to offer. The parking lot is huge, so you're bound to find a place to park, you may just have to walk a little further. Parking is free! There are programs offered to the public at this location. I love that, as it brings old, young and everyone in between, together. Their room for the presentation I signed up for was full to capacity, so I left without attending. I'd sign up and try to go again though.

Positive experience: Lots of equipment and trainers for personal advice. Great healthy food in the cafe. Great egg salad on multi grain bread.

Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable, helpful staff. Safety protocols in place for rapid response in case of emergencies. In addition to trainers, coaches & instructors, there is medical staff who communicate with family doctors when necessary to ensure safety in all exercise. Being geared towards a medical approach to exercise with different health programs makes it different than other exercise facilities. There are coaches to help come up with a plan to work towards goals safely & direct you to medical staff if they suspect any areas of concern. They have different classes on health topics, nutrition & cooking. The cafe serves healthy options for meals. Large parking lot with free parking & several handicap parking spots.

Fantastic experience: I had no idea what Reh-Fit had to offer till I went there for a test run on a friend’s Recommendation. Although it is called REHabitation FITness, it wasn’t what I expected it will be when I went there the first time on recommendation of a friend Reh-Fit has a multitude of different fitness options and activities. The best one is their indoor walking/running track that circles around the main exercise area. You can every exercise equipment that you can think of which you can use at your discretion. Almost throughout the day special classes like yoga and cross training etc. happen. If interval or extensive training is what works for you there is a while separate area for it where with out without a trainer you can exercise to your heart’s content. The locker/shower facilities are great and equipped with a sauna. There is a cafe as you step out of the locker area with ample seating area and board games to chill with friends. And my fav there is also massage facilities available for you to unwind. Since it is a rehab facility you can find kind and trained professionals to help you through your fitness journey. Ample parking. I see no reason why one would not want to give it a try especially when your first day is absolutely FREE!

Nice well maintained locker/change rooms and showers, has a working sauna and steam room. Cafe with reasonable prices in the upstairs lobby, quiet comfortable lounge for members to relax and wait for other members to finish up in. A few sceduled group classes and lectures throughout the week.

Positive experience: I have been a member of the Reh--Fit Centre for over 3 years. I have some health issues that brought me to this medically-based and well monitored fitness facility. I mostly use the track to walk. I also love the steam room. I hope the men's steam room will be fixed soon. At the beginning, I had a stress test and saw a trainer. I am likely due to see a trainer again. I love being able to freeze my membership for three months over the Summer, when I can walk outside. Many members are Snowbirds and freeze it over the Winter. I am always motivated by the older members who put such positive effort into being healthy as they can. There are many members on the track with wheelchairs and walkers and canes. Staff is very approachable. My only complaint is that they keep the Fieldhouse at 18 degrees Celsius, and no matter how many layers I wear I am always cold.

Been a member for eleven years now and joining was one of the top smart decisions I've made in my life. My secret to attending regularly was to decide to come at the same time three days a week and to initiate conversation with a few of the other members. Out of that habit I made some friends and now we motivate each other to keep coming.
