Lifemark Physiotherapy Bathurst & St. Clair

Fantastic experience: 2 months ago I was in severe pain from my hip down to my feet on my left side and I can't sit, stand or lie down for more than an hour at a time and I'm limping so badly because of sciatica (multi symptom). My doctor referred me to Lifemark Physiotherapy at Bathurst & Saint Clair and I was seen by Edward Xiao. Edward was very thorough in his treatment (massage, exercise, electrodes, heat pads). He tells me what he's doing and why at all times and was very reassuring with his calm personality. He showed/gave me exercises that I can do by myself after every treatment which really helped a lot. Though I was very hopeful, I was still in pain albeit less than before after 2 treatments. On my third appointment, after the usual treatment, Edward did an ultrasound and acupuncture. I felt better after a couple of days and was able to walk slowly without limping and was finally able to sleep for more than a couple of hours. After 5 treatments, I am walking normally, a bit sore (because of all the dancing I did over the holidays) but no pain. I'm very grateful and can't thank Edward enough for his diligence in treating my condition with utmost care and consideration. Shout out to Jessica at the front desk for being so kind & helpful. I highly recommend Lifemark Physiotherapy for their amazing staff and quality service.

Negative experience: Visited this clinic for a physio assessment after a car accident as referred by my physician. Completed the assessment while my practitioner shared she hated WSIB appointments. We discussed my injuries and a treatment plan. She said she would submit the plan to WSIB and call me for my appointments when approved. A month went by and when I followed up with the clinic they denied ever hearing back from WSIB. I followed up with WSIB and they shared that the clinic submitted documentation stating I didn’t need treatment since I’d already returned to work. I informed WSIB that my physician referred me to physio the day she cleared me for work. WSIB asked me to speak with the clinic again to make sure they knew that (I explained multiple times in my assessment). Called the clinic and explained it again, they said they’d have the practitioner look into it. She left me a voicemail and said she’d call back - never heard back again. I have no faith in the professionalism of this clinic and unfortunately my health has suffered as their misfiled paperwork ruined my WSIB claim.

Fantastic experience: I have gone several times with Edward for different injuries (neck, knee and ankle) and he's helped me fully recover each time!

Fantastic experience: Went for acupuncture. Sonja helped me to cure my carpal tunnel (related to pregnancy). She's very professional, knowledgeable and flexible (will make sure to address your need). Was very happy about the result (no more numbness in both hands). Bonus: i think they newly renovated and the clinic is super clean and chic (for a clinic)

Positive experience: I have been going to this location for over 20 years. It used to be called Brenda Rusnak, but that is another story. I am treated by Terri Wang, who I find totally professional, considerate and helpful. I am happy to recommend him. Lesia Deacon

Fantastic experience: I first went to this clinic for physio after an MVA, and had wonderful treatment from PT Julie and RKin Roslyn. I have continued to see RMT Chris for many years, he is really excellent and has accommodated my injuries and recovery beautifully

They handled all the insurance-related paperwork without problems, leaving me free to focus on my recovery. Fantastic experience: Went to this location after a Motor Vehicle Accident. The staff were amazing. I was paired with Grace for the treatment plan and Chris for massage therapy. Grace was great. She had an easy-to-follow yet effective treatment plan that showed results. I saw vast improvements between my first day and my last. Chris is by far the best massage therapist I have seen. That man is extremely skilled in his craft. I have recommended many friends and colleagues visit this location, and each have been impressed by the skill and professionalism displayed by the team.

Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Lifemark at 1500 Bathurst St. in Toronto since early 2024. I have worked mostly with Terry Wang. These visits are the result of hip-replacement surgery in November 2023. Terry is an excellent physiotherapist. He is informative, kind, and encouraging. He shares his vast knowledge, listens and responds to my questions, and charts a reasonable and progressive course of action. My recuperation from surgery has certainly been greatly supported by Terry. I am also grateful to Sarah and to the front-desk staff at Lifemark at this location.

Fantastic experience: Great clinic. I came in August with an ankle sprain. My physiotherapist, Edward Xiao, quickly established the injury and provided me with a strong, effective and simple treatment plan. Edward is considerate, personable and organized. Following my 3 sessions with Edward the injury has went away primarily and I’ve been able to make temporary adjustments while maintaining my sports and workouts. I’ve been happy and surprised with the quick results. Thank you so much Edward! The clinic is very clean and organized. The receptionists have also been friendly, professional and communicative

Negative experience: I've been going to this location for a few years, but today's issue finally prompted me to write a review. The individual therapists are what you would expect at any similar business - some are amazing and some are just OK, so find someone who works for you. But be careful with the admin around your booking, as I rearranged my day to make a 9 AM appointment only to be told on arrival that "you don't have an appointment today - you didn't confirm." I had clicked the "confirm" link they sent me and also had a calendar request that they had also sent me, but for some reason their system didn't have my appointment. They said they had called and left a voice mail at specific date and time, but a quick check of my phone log showed no call or VM. Long story short, the location has some good individual therapists but the booking back end and admin may let you down.

Fantastic experience: DID YOU SENIORS KNOW? You can receive physiotherapy covered by OHIP if you are 65+ via Lifemark Centres (in-person or virtual). You need a doctor requisition. These clinics are AMAZING. I had an ankle problem (I'm 79) and needed physio to repair and recover. I could not afford it and I do not have transportation. So I arranged to have virtual physio. You must be disciplined and follow the instructions of your physiotherapist. I had one virtual consultation and 3 virtual sessions. It worked! My physiotherapist was Ashwini M. and she was excellent. She was attentive, compassionate and gave me exercises that I followed. With diligent work from me and Ashwini, I was painless with movement in a month. I recommend them highly. W. Ross

Fantastic experience: I've come to see Terry several times when a muscle gets tight and painful. He magically releases the tightness, and the pain goes away. Terry also gives me preventative exercises to do at home. I highly recommend his services.

Negative experience: I came to this place because the front end employees were very helpful and pleasant. My physio consultation seemed to transpire well but the physiotherapist did not explain the outline of my treatment plan so I didn't know what I was agreeing to. When I was passed to the kinesiologist my session did not focus on what I had asked for during the consultation and that is when the trouble began. Right at the outset, the kinesiologist personally criticized me, had a habit of walking away while I'm in the midst of talking to her, would shout at me from across the room rather than approach me to speak in a reasonable volume, and at times would still shout while standing near me that I was literally being shouted at in the face. When I requested a specific type of exercise, she obliged but would occasionally make a patronizing comment. I could not handle being treated rudely and disrespectfully. After having me do four rudimentary exercises, the kinesiologist in a shrill shouting voice complained to me that I should be recovered by now, which implied that I am the problem, when the real issue is that we had only had one session and insufficient time for my body to be conditioned. I resent the fact that I was being made to feel pressured to recover faster than my physical state can tolerate--it can do more harm than help. Further, I do not think she would like it if in the presence of other customers I humiliated her by shouting “you should have had me recovered by now!” Her shrill shouting caused me headaches, significant stress, making me feel ill afterwards. Then she proceeded to have me do a more advanced risky exercise to seemingly force me to meet ‘her deadline’ for my recovery. My natural pace of healing was not being respected. It seems that they or she did not fully grasp my condition and its symptoms or limitations, and they lacked skill with integrating and arranging the exercises in a manner that is progressive, yet this was supposedly the more senior experienced kinesiologist. I don’t know what was communicated between the two of them, but I will never again hire a physiotherapist who involves an assistant. My REPLY TO LIFEMARK. For my privacy and peace I am not comfortable identifying myself because it took me a while to overcome the stress and humiliation of being shouted at. Even when I was standing on an apparatus, she suddenly shouted at me, which startled me that I could have fallen. I was shocked that the kinesiologist would think it appropriate to shout at a person who is struggling with injury and pain. She could see that I was having difficulty keeping up, but she was totally insensitive to me and she just kept ploughing forward. As an older person, I needed a calm health clinic, but that was not the experience I had in your kinesiology room.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place. I came here in late summer with back pain, caused by strenuous physical exercise. My physiotherapist, Edward Xiao, quickly determined the source of the problem and promptly came up with an easy, effective treatment plan. I found Edward to be very approachable, personal, caring, and punctual. Most importantly, he knows what he's doing; he certainly knew what to do in my case. After 4 sessions with Edward (spread over 3-4 weeks), the problem went away completely (and I didn't even have to stop my workouts completely -- just some temporary adjustments here and there). I was quite surprised by the results and how quickly they were attained. Thank you, Edward! Also, the receptionists are very good too -- the level of service in general is top-notch.

Fantastic experience: I'm very satisfied with vestibular therapy at Lifemark Physiotherapy Bathurst & St. Clair. I am very grateful to my physiotherapist Terry Wang for his professional help, his kindness, patience and support. He is amazing. I have been referred to do vestibular therapy by my doctor after suffering for almost two years from labyrinthitis, vertigo, dizziness, imbalance, poor coordination and other symptoms due to damaged inner ear nerve. I started the vestibular therapy three month ago, and have already made progress with improving my condition and the symptoms of dizziness and imbalance are reduced. It's easier to walk in a straight line now and I can also move my head around while walking (which used to be very difficult), and look ahead (before vestibular therapy I'd struggle to walk forward without staring at the ground under my feet). My daily life and confidence are improving. I really recommend trying the vestibular therapy if you are suffering from vestibular disease, labyrinthitis or symptoms similar to mine.

Negative experience: Hello Stay away from this organization if your over 65! They discriminate if your senior and you have a OHIP referral. Just called the Bathurst St location trying to book an appointment and reception advised me they can fit in on Monday 2 business days later and it will cost $180.00. When I advised them I have a OHIP referral she pushed the appointment July 30? 2 months later! Couldn't believe it. I told her I will get by with my broken leg without your services! I have the funds for this but refuse to give it to this scam establishment. My concern is what about all those seniors that don't have cash and need rehab right away! If I'm not mistaken I think these Physio businesses are partly funded by the taxpayers in this Province. N

Fantastic experience: I was a patient at St Clair/Bathurst Life Mark Physio. I can't stay enough about the Clinic's Director Terry. Terry helped me fight my wars with WSIB to make sure I get the treatments I needed. A true health professional who has his patients best interest in mind. Highly recommend this clinic ran by Terry, he will make sure you get the best care or he will refer you where he believes you will get that. Fantastic experience: After facing several challenges sorting out my workplace injury benefit reimbursement claims with WSIB, I was finally referred to Lifemark after I had been going to a different physiotherapy clinic that did not support direct billing; I’m so glad I made the switch! I chose the Bathurst & St. Clair location as it’s a convenient distance from both my home and my workplace, and I’m often able to schedule my appointments either before, after, or during my work day. It’s been almost a year of post-concussion symptoms, but with the strengthening and reconditioning exercises that Terry customizes to my fluctuating pain issues, I’m finally starting to gain hope that I will one day resume my normal pre-concussion range of motion. Thanks to Terry and the entire team at Lifemark for all the work that you do, especially so that I can focus on my recovery and never have to worry about paying out-of-pocket for reimbursement or dealing with my WSIB paperwork!!!

Fantastic experience: The administrative and physio staff are wonderful! The warm and welcoming atmosphere helps me feel at ease. The physiotherapist I work with most, Mehrdad, is very patient and encouraging, and Ross, a kinesiologist, explains the exercises so well when I practice with her. I most recently worked with Terry for TMJ pain, and as with the others, his kind approach really supported me. I am only able to access physiotherapy through OHIP and really appreciate that I'm treated with respect here. I highly recommend Lifemark Bathurst and St.Clair for physiotherapy!

Fantastic experience: Terry is amazing! I went to this clinic in December for my elbow pain. PT Terry did my diagnosis. The therapy helped me and my elbow pain reduced by 50% on the same day. I went for couple more sessions and was fully recovered within a week by Terry's recommended exercises. The reception staff are courteous, responsive, and professional. 100% recommended!

Fantastic experience: I was scared out of mind when I tore my Achilles, but thank God I had Julie as my physiotherapist. She took her time with my recovery even when things started taking a little longer than they should have. She helped me relearn how to walk, and regain overall flexibility/ mobility. I’ve been to a few physio’s in my lifetime now, but she’s hands down the best I’ve ever been to. Her passion for her craft is very apparent, and she truly cares about her patient’s recovery.

Fantastic experience: Worked with Terry for roughly six weeks. He helped me get past some knee pain with an exercise/stretching regimen. He was kind and professional the whole time. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Went into LifeMark at Bathurst and St.Clair with a work related hip flexor/groin strain. Not only were they the only clinic in my area that deals with WSIB but they were absolutely amazing to work with. Put me on stretching/strengthening session twice a week for a month and by the end of the second week I was feeling much improved. Thank-you very much Terry and Robert for getting me back to %100!

Fantastic experience: This particular Lifemark at 1500 Bathurst just steps away from St Clair Ave W., on the NW side, is very accessible by streetcar and bus. OHIP is accepted at this location but there are certain stipulations so it’s best to speak to your doctor and Lifemark before hand. It is never crowded, very clean and welcoming. I learnt a lot and from the excellent guidance and treatments and feel so much better, finally! Much thanks to Robert and Julie for working with me and being so good at what they do. And Jessica who works at reception is helpful, patient and always has a welcoming smile. They all put forth good calm energy and that certainly helps to promote good health. I have gone to many other places which all pale by comparison.The amazing people who work at 1500 Bathurst’s Lifemark, know how to help their clients, heal.

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Chris for many years and now I won’t see anyone else! He’s the best RMT I have ever had. I started seeing Julie for physio after a minor car accident and she was fantastic and helped me find exercises that work for me. I also just started seeing Sonia for acupuncture for some nerve issues and there has been a remarkable difference only after a couple of sessions. Love this place and the people. I live across the city now and take the time to drive to and from my appointments because I don’t want to try anywhere else everyone is so good here!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this clinic on and off for quite a long time. I've had different kinds of problems with pain, injuries, broken bones, limited mobility of one kind or another, and I am always glad to go back (not glad to have the injury obviously). They are friendly, professional, and thorough. I saw Ali and then Boris as physiotherapists and Chris the massage therapist and they are like your team for healing. They will do everything they can to help you and make sure you have the best diagnosis and treatment. Staff are great as well, very nice to deal with.

Fantastic experience: Very organized (clean too!) and professional in every aspect. My physiotherapist Boris is very knowledgeable and experienced. He recommended to go see a physiatrist after my first assessment for a frozen shoulder at Lifemark. I came back to be seen by him after getting an injection at the physiatrist clinic, and my shoulder is slowly but surely improving. Boris' assessment was absolutely right - I did need the injection done by a physiatrist; otherwise, I couldn't have done much of exercises because of the pain. I don't normally have to wait for my appointment after checking-in. The pre-screening can be done prior to my appointment online. Upon arrival, the receptionists check their system to see if my pre-screening is done and let me come in. They check my temperature and give me a new clean mask and have me sanitize my hands. And right after that, they take me in to the treatment room right away. Very smooth.

Fantastic experience: I can’t think of enough positive things to say about this place. Rahil, my physiotherapist is attentive and knowledgeable. Benhaz my massage therapist is probably the best massage therapist I’ve ever had (and I’ve had many). Overall amazing service and a great place to go to for all your rehabilitation needs.

Fantastic experience: I've been attending Lifemark Bathurst & St Clair location for many years. The staff are professional, attentive, and friendly. They have supported me through a work injury and WSIB claim, a car accident and insurance claim, a broken ankle resulting from a fall, and ongoing health issues. Registered Massage Therapist Chris Perlik is excellent with years of experience.. He is thorough and caring. He will focus on specific area of concern, releasing tight muscles. I can't say enough good about Chris. I also work with Physiotherapist Julie Lee and Kinesiologists Roz and Noah. They have helped me find ways to manage through my injuries and help with restoring strength, mobility, and function, with treatment and prescribed exercises. Administrative staff Mary and Tanya are dedicated and friendly. I always feel welcome and cared for at Lifemark.

He encouraged me that I am going to get better and gave me different kinds of exercises. He knows what kind of movement I should do every week.
