The Niagara Falls Community Health Centre (NFCHC) is non-profit, community governed, multi-service health centre that provides primary health care, health promotion, and community development services all under one roof at no cost. NFCHC responds to the health needs of individual patients and their families, as well as to the health concerns of the community. Fantastic experience: We went in search for help after our son fractured his wrist, as we couldn’t afford the full treatment at the hospital. That’s when we visited the NFCHC and found Nurse Practitioner Singh. She was the best help we could have asked for. She was incredibly thoughtful and truly cared about our family’s well-being. We are deeply grateful for her support and would definitely recommend her services at the NFCHC.

Fantastic experience: I am using a friend to write this for me as I don't speak English. My appologies for a long story but I need to say this. I recently gave birth to a baby and had horrible experience with hospital and overall Healthcare. I went to niagara falls community health centre for my new born's care where I met this amazing lady dr. Singh. She immediately recognized that my own health was bad and offered to see me. She liyteraly saved my life. She is no less than Angel. I wish there were more professionals like her, very knowledgeable, skilled still very humble and welcoming. She treats you like a human.God bless her always.

Negative experience: This is Sherry Bain. So once again the wheel is spinning but the hamster is dead. The one receptionist needs to be schooled on professionalism in regards to dealing with people at a medical facility. I worked as a Reg N for 30 yrs and never have seen such blatant disregard for pt confidential.Her demeaning attitude with a false sense of superiority comment, ‘ Now was that so hard’, when I gave her more information. I really think it’s time for a visit to the pet store

Fantastic experience: I’ve had such wonderful experiences attending the belly dancing classes organized by the Niagara Falls Community Health Centre (NFCHC)! The classes were so much fun, uplifting, and a great way to connect with others while staying active. The instructor created a welcoming and supportive environment, making every session enjoyable for participants of all skill levels. Negative experience: This place is thé worst when it comes to care from doctors. The lack of care and concern. You are just a number. When you have serious and genuine concerns about your health care and stuff going on you are brushed off. The care they provided for my daughter was worse. During stressful life situations and times you are not treated well. You are treated like an annoyance.

Negative experience: Terrible service and reception litterally waiting over a month to jave my diabetic meds refilled reception is lazy and doesnt want to do their job had my pharmacy fax my refill request 3 times and then fimally a month later when i jave 1 day of meds left im told it will take 2 to 3 buisness days to be able to get my perscription refilled disgusting and absaloutly negligent

Negative experience: It’s unacceptable that the receptionist didn’t bother to inform us that we were waiting for an entire hour, the fact that we are there for our first appointment.. Furthermore, they neglected to inform the dietician of our presence. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.

Negative experience: Got a family doctor but no use,whenever I call for an appointment she is on leave .The worst part is the receptionist there ,just like a radio ,don't want to hear what we are saying ..very rude and unprofessional...not at all compassionate..I saw a lot of complaints here but who will be taking necessary actions to improve the patient care and services?

Fantastic experience: I will NEVER go back to visiting a single doctor. With doctors, you can wait 20 minutes to spend 10 min with the doctor. With Community Health Centers, you wait 10 min for 20 to 30 minutes with Health Provider. The care is comprehensive, not one issue at a time. And they genuinely care! Recently, I had to move, but I would take a cab any distance to continue my care there.

Negative experience: This location is a joke off a doctors office, I wouldn’t even recommend taking a dog to get looked at. They are useless rude unprofessional. And should be revoked from operating a clinic. I have been waiting for almost a year to be a new patient, called today only to find out they place new intake on hold and no one reached out to informed me off this.

Positive experience: I'm editing my review as a update starting from 2024. I have seen some improvement over the years . This establishment operates as a team and they provide many (covered) services for a wide range of physical and mental health problems . My doctor is a angel sent from heaven and we are practicing somatic exercises as form of trauma healing . This is a safe environment and anyone is welcome to sign up for the groups . The building is accross from Victoria library and has lots of parking . The phones are often ignored during business hours making it very difficult to make appointment. The answering machine does not take messages. They send emails but do not respond to them . One thing they are very good at is completing paper work for o.d.s.p. and making sure I feel heard . Negative experience: They use to be good the best staff ..since September 2023 all the good staff seems to have left including doctors......the outreach workers are truly helpful....dieticians and OTs as well...Now they have a receptionist a nasty piece of work all she says is to go to hospital...there is nobody you can contact to ask for change of doctor ...the doctor they assigned is useless they assigned is useless ...go to hospital go to hospital go to hospital had been the response from this receptionist every time ....she says this doctor new to us is what she says ..s....not much use in calling ...she will not connect you to nursing...since sSeptember 2023 this is the Most Useless piece of medic al centre..never ever ever did they treat their clients so poorly ......do not go there if you need medical care go to hospital can't get test results nothing.....absolutely Horrid ...there is no way this receptionist should have this job....I have never ever in all my years been treated with such nasty disgusting ..ways by any body dealing with public I hear on the phone ...andtalks to everyone nasty and talks down...the patients rights are totally ignored .....gotta find someone to express my concerns to 1 star is there cuz there is nothing LOWER.... at this point cuz appointments never been offered..I don't know if it a receptionist on a power trip or if it actually is the doctor up until Sept ember we had good doctors good receptionists etc....no longer the case Going to hospital is for emergencies...not issues that primary care doctors take care of every day

Fantastic experience: Great Family health clinic. Great staff. Helpful and knowledgeable staff that teach great courses on a variety of topics to help clients deal with many different types of day to day issues such as chronic pain, grief, anxiety, mindful meditation to name a few. There is also a gym room for clients to use.

Negative experience: Ive been with health center for 10 years and Everytime I need my meds renew I Always have a hard time getting a hold of my Dr. They never refill it till days later (when I have 5 to 0 meds left) and zero repeats. I call them a week or 10 days BEFORE MY MEDS RUN OUT! Receptionist gets upset when i call cuz im still patiently waiting. It take 2 mins to refill my meds after seeing a patient. Or before the go on break why can't they can refill my meds? It take 20 seconds out of their day.

Negative experience: I have been affiliated with the lockport office and never had any issues until I moved and was redirected to the Niagara Falls location. I have been trying to be seen for almost 5 months. Each time the appointment was made, I confirmed with the confirmation text. I get to the building and the first time I went. they scheduled me at a time when the office closed early for a holiday. They never reached out to cancel or reschedule. I try to make a second appointment which I had to cancel (wouldn't have mattered in hindsight upon discovering the doc I was supposed to see wasn't there.) I end up in having these horrible episodes I think are related to hyperthyroidism. I call them, explain how bad it can get and ask for an appointment. telling her I may end up going to the e.r because it's frightening me. She can't get me in for over 5 weeks. I accept the appointment. I end up in the emergency room a few days later. bloodwork , whole nine yards. e.r doc orders bloodwork stat. I follow up later with my pcp (a couple.days later) and they tell me there are no openings but she can get me in in six weeks. I reluctantly accepted. Here we are six weeks later. I confirmed my appointment via conformation txt automated system. I get there today and walk in. Nobody seems to look like they know what's going on. It's like I walked into someone poorly playing the Sims, the people literally were turning around walking in circles with a dense confused look on thier faces. (employees and patients). after staring at the lady behind the desk, waiting for her to check me in, I finally spoke when I realized she wasn't going to. I tell her my name dob and why I'm there. She looks up and says the doc is out until November. to which I reply, I know, when I called they asked if I would be okay seeing the docs assistant. she says well we called and cancelled it. I said no you did not. I have the confirmation txt once again, and she replied by saying nothing. I vented my frustration (mildly, as I'm not in the business of yelling at total strangers or screaming) telling her it's been months of issues on your guys' end. She just stared at me. I walked out. I've been frustrated since. I just wanna know what the hell is happening. and they can't seem to accommodate keeping just 1 appointment for me. I'm calling my insurance and reporting. not seeing me after a serious e.r visit? that's on you, I just want some damn help and relief..

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for over a year and kamika is by far the best health care provider I've seen not only does she help with any physical problems I have but she has also taken great care of my mental health and my 1 year old son as well. The other staff here are also really kind only time I've seen them mad or have an attitude is when they are overwhelmed like any person and when dealing with a nasty customer

Fantastic experience: My family uses this clinic and we have the best doctor ever. I feel comfortable with her which is surprising because I am not usually like that. Anytime I had a concern regarding my health she was on TOP of it, sending referrals to get things done. I didn't really need to advocate for myself because she takes the time to listen to what I need. Today an elderly lady had an accident in the waiting room, staff handled it discretely.

Negative experience: Do not even bother with this place until they get more doctors. My doc left after a few months and my file was given to a nurse practitioner named Heather who has absolutely NO idea what she is doing and worst of all, does not care. Getting her to fill a correct prescription should NOT be this hard.

Negative experience: Please don’t advertise counseling and then don’t allow people to access the service. It makes one feel even more secluded. Even a therapist don’t care! What is someone in need supposed to do? Suffer and HOPE for the best. The receptionist is quite curt and should never be dealing with anyone in health crisis. Rude. Unprofessional and all just for asking questions about service advertised but NOT offered. There are many people more qualified and who actually like talking to others and giving of information with out judgment or condescending tone. Brian. Positive experience: I have been going to the clinic for awhile now ever since queen street. We took my son for an appointment and saw a sign for masks. I'm not for masks at all but none the less I wore it. Seeing some staff not wearing masks is very disturbing. This is why Everyone questions the mask and covid. Everyone should be wearing a mask regardless if you sit behind glass or not. When you come in contact with other staff aren't you now spreading covid not wearing a mask? Plus you touched the health card and handed it back. When things don't make sense question it. They demand respect, they demand us to wear a mask. I demand you to wear one also. Give me my respect. Don't care for excuses what's "good for the, is good for me". The staff though that are setting the example well done, and the staff in general are decent. My son's doctor is great and has all of his info up to date.

Negative experience: I got called in for a tetanus shot, only to be greeted by an unwelcoming receptionist and to be told by a nurse that I already had my tetanus shot 2 years ago and she did not understand why I was there. So I told her that I got called to make this appointment not me calling in for it. They really need better receptionists or have better communication between everyone working there. Complete waste of my time today. Not to mention my supposedly doctor does not work there anymore because I keep getting assigned to someone different when I do make an appointment.

Negative experience: I had been approved to the green door project went for my appointment Dr pulled out a few of my teeth went back for next appointment Dr started poking and prying at my teeth taking X-rays of every single tooth that I have and then at the end he said there's nothing that he can do for me because I don't qualify for green door project as I am not working I had went there to seek help I left in 10 times more pain with bleeding gums zero help 0 prescriptions nothing just told there's nothing he can do he's going to refer me to somebody else even though last time he said he was going to pull my teeth that's why he took X-rays before I had left the last appointment do not recommend this place for anybody that is suffering because they will make you suffer more

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC. They make major assumptions about your health based on no evidence and do not listen to you at all. I experienced a lot of what the other negative reviews did as well. They will leave you feeling completely unheard and I felt like I was treated like a child.

Negative experience: This place is starting to be be very bullshut Receptionist is NOT DOING THERE WORK !! KNOW IDEA WHO IS A LIAR THERE !! NO RESPECT TO PATIENTS !!!

Negative experience: Constantly flipping my partner to different providers with little to no notice and rarely ever calls to follow up when they're supposed to based on the providers notes. The latest provider talked to my partner like a CHILD about their mental health diagnosis and has decided to override a PSYCHIATRISTS recommendation and do things her way. Weekly prescriptions and calls because my partner with no history of addiction is being treated like an addict who can't be trusted with their meds, rather than titrating the doses themselves as the psychiatrist instructed. While I left this practice years ago after being lectures about my mental health issues being my own fault,this is the last straw for my partner and he'll be moving on as well.

Fantastic experience: This facility has implemented many programs over the years, including a Seniors Dental Program that Niagara Falls was lacking. The staff are supportive and do their best to get clients the help they are seeking.

Negative experience: These people are all about the money and the customer service is terrible, this place is the definition of what is wrong with the medical system, they are using covid as an excuse to double bill and scam the government. Pre-assessments for my kids shots? Are you kidding me? Not a covid screen BTW, that’s entirely different...

Fantastic experience: The staff here are friendly and accommodating. I've never had issues with anyone at reception. My family all see Eileen who is super helpful when it comes to discussing our issues/concerns. I've never had to use them, but the health centre also has a lot of free wellness programs.

Fantastic experience: If you are in need of help, this is the place. Be respectful. Explain your problem. If you are lucky enough to get A.J. or anyone there take a minute to thank God. You will be fine.

Negative experience: No change tables in the bathrooms anywhere in this building. This is a Fatal flaw for me as a new mom. Disappointing.

Positive experience: I came from a different town and got a doctor right away but I found the reception to be unprofessional and with poor attitudes. My doctor was wonderful and the programs available were perfect for being new to town. Birth certificate, quit smoking, nutrition and fit classes.

Positive experience: used them for a while about 4 years back before moving out of town, now i havent seen a doc since. tried the only other closest place ( valley way walk in ) only to be denied my application without reason, as the NFCHC were " not accepting new patients at this time ". their drop in services are fine, but it looks like im waiting for a family doc for a long time. :( isnt 4 years long enough? bad enough i was made to feel dumb for inquiring about a doc as there was a family behind me looking at me like i did everything wrong. like they came in halfway through the convo, so all they hear is her blaming me for asking. so its clear i did wrong by coming in to inquire. all i will use them for is their free GentleFit and afternoon classes they have that interest me.

Negative experience: Very disturbing when the receptionist has her feet on the desk while chatting to friend ignoring patients at window. Eventually told not accepting new patients on waiting list for doctor, yet afterwards counsellor contradicted her.? Got a counsellor who acted very unprofessional , no note taking or review of medical reports, just a little chitchat session lol.Returned seeking assistance on filling out an important medical form and ,again realized this counsellor is unprofessional because he failed to do a draft,then a proof read ,therein unproperly filled out document , resulting in mistakes , missed details and poor format for a very important document. Direction and management very lacking and unprofessional. All employees credentials and work habits need seriously reviewed to weed out the garbage.Avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: A family member who was extremely hesitant to see a doctor for years finally agreed to go and was assigned a very good doctor. Unfortunately, that Doctor left and when I tried approaching them for an appointment for followup as was directed to by Dr. who was no longer there, the reception was not willing to give me an appointment for 6 weeks and they had to see a Nurse Practitioner. Very sadly, they ended up in a crisis situation that could have been fatal. Once out of the hospital they were assigned yet another Dr. who seemed to be a good fit. Today I tried to make an appointment to see this Dr. and behold, they are no longer there and I was advised they were assigned to a nurse practitioner. I refused to accept this answer and was told someone would be in touch. Still waiting and they closed 3 hrs. ago. Since when is a receptionist qualified to determine who gets to see who and when? Definitely leaving this place of service...going to my MPP and to the Review. Don't bother calling me back.

Negative experience: If I could give this clinic less than one star, I would!! The only positive experience I have had at this location was with the dietitian. I HAD been a patient there for a couple years, the whole time hoping and praying that things would change and I wouldn't be treated so poorly. Alas, that is not the case. If you are wondering why I didn't leave sooner, it's because family doctors that are taking on new patients are few and far between. I have on several occasions been accosted over the phone and in person by the "professionals" working at this clinic. I have on many occasions been made to feel as though I am less worthy of care and comfort than that of a stray dog. I have been told by a doctor that worked there (thank God he's now gone) that "you are a woman, it is your place in life to suffer" bearing in mind that I am in my mid twenties and have a broken back!!! I have been denied assistance by said doctor, and the one I was assigned to following that doctor as my "issues can't be that severe seeing as you've never been prescribed any narcotics, continue to see your chiropractor". May I remind you again that I cracked in half my L5 vertebrae at the age of 15 and suffer with chronic pain every day of my life. I have been told by these "doctors", who had never so much as sent me for an X-ray, that they can't (and on a few occasions that they WON'T) do anything to help me and that I need to "deal with my mistakes". Because I asked to have this happen, right? Now, I do understand that this clinic resides in a low income area and a lot of the patrons there are less than reputable, but I would expect that any professional working in this capacity would have the wherewithal, knowledge, and training to treat every patient as an individual. I would recommend that the Ministry of Health investigate this location for quality assurance and customer satisfaction as I believe that they would find it to be severely lacking. It has been stated to me, by the "professionals" at this clinic that this clinic is having a difficult time attracting new doctors to this location. I may have some insight as to why. Upon calling this clinic you have a 50/50 chance of getting the nice receptionist. The other one is a moody cow who will not properly, if at all, book an appointment for you. When you enter the clinic you are treated by said cow as though you have intruded upon her day and are wasting her time by being there. She is Always very rude without any provocation. Not a good first impression... I have been called and been compared to a child by Charlene (the nurse that takes blood) because I was uncomfortable and scared of getting needles. I have been told by Allison another nurse practitioner that I will not receive any help and hung up on by said nurse. Upon speaking to the owner of this location, Louis, I was told to not get my blood taken there anymore. This clinic has done more to undermine my treatment than it has to help my treatment, I would not, and will not, ever recommend this clinic to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: Love the doctors and nurses especially Alison and Charlene. Dr. Larivee is great too. The staff is always helpful especially reception and Lisa who is outreach.. oh and Nicole the nurse is really nice too. Everyone gets great care here!

Negative experience: Must be extremely nice to the front desk clerks or you will not get your apt booked for the following visit. The lady was in a bad mood and because I did not understand her she did not book my next follow up appointment. Now I have to wait another week. Great doctor but horrible service. Good thing it's all free
